More manga, this time from the library. I'm doing a booktube 30 volumes of manga in 30 days challenge this month and using it to try different series.
I read Promised Neverland today, and it is dark.

I read Promised Neverland today, and it is dark.
This story is super weird and I‘m digging it. Kids against demons? Mysterious overlords? Dystopic world? I‘m into it. Definitely my speed with a fever today…
This was great, and much darker then it seems from the cover and the initial story. This manga is about an orphanage that seems ideal, but has a very dark secret. I look forward to continuing the series! 5⭐️
I think this volume is okay, but I wasn't in love with it--it seemed to lack on the horror aspect for me. The artwork and facial expressions felt off at certain points.
The first volume did remind me of the first volume of a series I've been reading. The 3 main characters plan logically, which makes does make the story feel different. Thank you again Ryan for sharing this volume with me @LibrarianRyan #manga #lmpbc
@LibrarianRyan really liked this one!

Also I got a letter returned to me that I sent to you @Zuhkeeyah so I‘ll try again. Has your address changed?
4.5⭐This was a perfect freaky crazy WTF read. Based on the cover and the words Neverland I went in thinking it would be some type of Peter Pan retelling. In only the loosest way could it be considered that. Instead it‘s about a group of orphans who find out that there‘s more to the orphanage than child care. To say anymore gives away the story and I‘m not going to do that. You have to read this and go in as blind as possible because it is amazin
I had no clue what I was getting into with this book, but I was surprised by how intriguing the concept was. The world felt rather unique, and kept me interested. I have to know what happens next. The story was a little darker than I had been expecting, I usually don't read things like that. However, I'm glad a gave this a chance. I don't know what will possibly happen with the rest of the books in the series, but I see a lot of potential so far.
I read this to see what the manga hype is all about. This is a clean one - no sexuality or graphic violence. Appropriate for young teens and older. Story of an orphanage that has sinister roots…
I picked this up because the art style looked cute. That continued to be the case and I was not disappointed! However, I didn't read what the #manga was about (I rarely read what a book is about anymore 😅). Turns out, it's part of my two least favorite genres: dystopian and horror! I didn't like it, but I can tell it's an excellent read. I have a friend who was excited to see that I'd picked it up, and I haven't told him I didn't like it yet...
I enjoyed the story and the twist that this first volume gave. I'm excited to continue on with the story learn the fate of the characters.
I finished my first Manga book today. It was a little confusing at first because I wasn‘t sure what the correct order was to read the panels. I‘m sure I mixed it up but the story still made sense. 😂
This was a pretty interesting premise. Emma is an orphan who lives in an orphanage with a lot of kids. They learn and have fun. Emma learns a crazy secret and has to figure out what‘s going on!

Promised Neverland, chapter 141 (MangaRock)
You can do it, Emma! If anyone can make this world less messed-up, it‘s Emma 😉

You know you have a good friend when they trust you to read a book from their collection 😁
The orphanage has so many books in the library & Ray likes to read them! #charactersreading
With the anime about to debut I pulled this off the shelf to remind myself about the characters and then I realized I didn't actually finish it! 😜
Not because I didn't like it (I did) it just got put out of sight. 🤷♂️
Gonna plow through it right now. 🤗
The Promised Neverland volume 1
No spoilers, but wow! I totally didn‘t expect that 😆 Am I gonna continue with this series?? Oh definitely 👍

😱😬 When is vol.2 out?!?
I noticed now that this is rated T for older teen. I think that is a bit in excess (but I don't know how horrific the series will get yet). My 11y/o is mature enough for it but she wouldn't have been a year ago.
My daughter asked me if I had started this yet and added, "I almost feel like I should warn you... but no. You read so much I'm sure you have read about worse things."
Now what does that mean?! Sounds like this should be just the thing to wake me up for more #24in48. Well played, my child. Well played.
My daughter devoured The Promised Neverland vol. 1 yesterday, while her brother and I iced and decorated her birthday cake. She says it's a pick (both the book and the cake) and I should read it too. 👍
Our birthday tradition for school days is birthday cards and one present (if time) at breakfast. My daughter simply picked a gift from the top and ended up with a manga from the lovely @LibrarianRyan and a magnificent stack of colour-in bookmarks, ditto post cards, (+ stickers and sweets) from fab littens @erzascarletbookgasm @PerksOfBeingABookworm and @Cinfhen She sends her thanks and was almost late for school due to sorting and reading. 😂
It's only 5:30pm but my pj's are on and the rest of the night is date night for me and all my fiction. Starting things slow with this new #Manga I picked up the other day. ❤️
Tea of choice for this evening is called, Magic Dragon. 👍
@LibrarianRyan thank you! Already at a quick glance I can pretty much guarantee that my daughter will love this. 😃 It looks like just her thing. ❤️
