so-soAs a huge fan of the Jack Ryan books, I was somewhat disappointed by this novel. Although it had the same Clancy flair, it lacked the intrigue and thrill of the Ryan series. It was also fairly repetitive, as the majority is descriptions of how various units (ground, air and naval) would have operated at that time. At times I felt as if It was a retelling of some video game junkies last few hours of game play. Bottom line, I was not impressed.
pickFinally finished this one - even without the missing pages. I never thought I would like a book like this. Normally I don't read thillers or books concerning wars. But I started this and couldn't stop. Even with the detailed war machine descriptions.

Almost finished this one - realizing that someone ripped off the last chapter and put it back in - BUT without pages 725 & 726!!! Why is anyone doing this to a book? Was this page sooooo good that you had to have it??? Aaaargh! 😡😡😡

Hello my Listy friends I was eating a quick breakfast today (4:00 am) and sitting all by himself was this homeless man. I struck up a conversation and heard a heart rending story of lost normality something I take for granted. He said off the cuff "I really miss just sitting down and reading a good book" I had this book in my car and gave it to him. He took it with such joy in his eyes and tears in mine. How lucky we are to have a normal life.
