Ok, this one is a #covertrend rather than just the same picture, it‘s the headless woman torso trend.

Omg I love Sam & Alva! Their relationship was so great and they balanced each other out. I wish there was more actual decorating of the house. Alva buys a haunted house and can‘t get anyone to work on. They actually only spend like 2 chapters in the house. They try to talk to the ghost and rid the house of her. So they work together to try and find who the ghost is and why she‘s haunting the house.
Haven‘t gotten a chance to post my goals for #OutstandingOctober
I‘m going on a work trip this week, so I‘m not sure how much reading I‘ll actually able to get done. But I‘m bringing 1 print book and my kindle, so we‘ll see.
I realized that I never reviewed this, even though I finished it a couple weeks ago. It definitely deserves a review. An excellent story, with well-written characters, an interesting premise, and even a ghost. Wonderful secondary characters and witty dialogue. Recommended.
Started reading this, which I‘ve had on my Kindle for a while, when I had my Kindle with me but not my physical book. Fun so far. Really enjoyable characters.
#WeeklyForecast indicates that we are getting to the time of the month where I am running out of month!! 😂 Tagged book & Wrong Side of Magic are #LMPBC. Well Played & Gods of Jade & Shadow are due at the library. Point of Danger is a review copy & the two Anne books are the final reads for the #HeyCarrots readalong!! We will see how far I get. Life does look a little quieter this week!!
@Cinfhen
Kind of an impulse buy, but it worked out! I devoured it in a day. The male love interest, Sam, is so sweet and enthusiastic and full of love; Alva has been hurt so badly, but tries to keep going and do what she wants to do. Also, ghost! And Sam's family are epic.
Warning: domestic violence (not between the love interests), references to historically accurate poor treatment of the mentally ill
Just finished this one. It‘s my #LMPBC for this month AND my #DoubleSpin as well as #19 on #BookSpinBingo! I may squeak out a bingo, but I may be 1 short. I liked this book, especially Sam. He was an obsessed inventor - always thinking of new ways to do things. Would have liked to learn more about the ghost and experienced less sexy times, but overall it was good. Not your normal romance.
Finished my #lmpbc book for this month! @Allylu I‘ll try to get to the post office in the next day or two (before I head off to the campground for a long weekend)😊 #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks @hes7
This was a good, slightly spooky story that touched on a lot of important topics: domestic violence, family, friendship (and chosen family), and others I won‘t mention for fear of revealing spoilers! I felt Alva‘s struggle to open herself up to love again and was anxious to discover the secrets of the haunted house. (Note: This book is an open-door romance, and I prefer closed. So it wasn‘t a 5-star read for me, but it was so close!)

P.S. It‘s not what you think
This was a great read. While some serious issues were touched on (i.e., domestic violence), the story still remained focused on the present romance - and the ghost story. Both Alva and Sam were interesting characters. Also, the ghost was interesting and I liked how Diana Biller kept it spooky without moving into full horror. All in all, a fun, pretty feel good read!
#BookReview - ⭐️⭐️💫 - finished my 1st book for #24b4monday late last night. This one had so much potential to be a great book for me, but just fell short. It had good bones and good characters, but the whole thing just felt rushed and lacking the extra background detail to make it really good.
It‘s lunchtime in Hawaii and I‘ve only read a little over 2 hours so far for this #24b4monday. I‘m starting with The Widow of Rose House, and hoping to finish it today. So far, it‘s just OK. As a healthcare provider during this times of crisis, I have been feeling much more stressed than normal lately and was looking forward to a weekend of reading and relaxing. Finding it hard to focus. Still, the rest is and distraction is needed and good.
4/5⭐ This was such a delight! It was a sweet romance, and while I initially wished there had been more of the ghost story in the forefront, I quickly got invested in Alva and Sam's story. There's a lot to like here! Glad this was my last book finished in 2019.
A lot of fun. The romance was steamy, the ghost story spooky. Here‘s hoping the next book is the story of another of the hero‘s family.
This was a cute paranormal romance, I read through it in an afternoon! I am hoping there are future stories with the rest of the leads family, they would to get to know more!
"Love isn't naive, Alva. It's hope, and it's faith, and it can outlast buildings and wars and empires."
"I care about everything. And especially about things that are excellent."
❤️?❤️
A lovely and bittersweet #romantsy about Alva an abused yet strong who buys a house that ends up being haunted. The hero is Sam a sweet and kind inventor who is interested in investigating hauntings. This story contains major gothic elements, along with the tragic backstory for the heroine but adds in enough humor to lighten the story.
Wonderfully balances the literal and metaphorical meaning of fighting ghosts. The hero will delightfully sweep you off your feet, and a the heroine is admirably strong and resourceful. #historicalromance, #ghoststory
With a debilitated house that Alva desperately wanted brought into the Gilded Age, a whimsical scientist who wanted to prove the existence of ghosts, and a cruel reminder of Alva‘s past, there is much to love in this story. There was a slow burn romance element but this was woven within scenes of anger, dismissal, extortion, lightheartedness, mystery, and reveals of abuse. I was kept on a rollercoaster of emotion and I loved every minute!
I have less than a week to get this ARC read & review posted before official release date. I guess it's time to get cracking. Spooky season (aka my absolute favorite time of year) is upon us so of course I had to dig out my ghost bookmark. 👻
Widowed and scandalized, Mrs. Webster is haunted by her past, so its fitting that the house she bought is too. When Sam Moore requests to investigate the ghosts in her house she refuses, unwilling to believe that those who tormented you in life could do so in death as well. But after her construction crew sees something unexplained and refuses to work until something is done she reluctantly teams up with Professor Moore to investigate.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 I couldn‘t put this one down! I think at times the conversational language didn‘t match the time period, but aside from that - it was perfect in every way! * Thanks NetGalley for my advance copy
