⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐Another easily accessible, thought-provoking read from Rebecca Serle that asks us what we would do if our future was decided for us, and then what would we do if that changed.

Always happy to be back with Veronica and Stoker. I love that this time around they seem to comfortable in their personal lives that it kind of makes everything else seem rather ease. Which is really refreshing. The mystery itself is very intriguing and mixed with some truly hilarious moments and it's one of the lighter entries in the series. Just sad I read it too quickly. Excelsior! #mystery #series
I like that we get to travel to a new locale in this one. Of course trouble will follow Finlay and Vero wherever they go and oftentimes they're the ones following the trouble. That's not changed this time around. I feel like this one, more than the other books, ties up a bunch of loose ends, but leaves just enough that Elle Cosimano can continue the series onward. #mystery #romance #series #FinlayDonovanRollsTheDice
I think this is one of Rachel Hawkins' best - at least so far. It really recalls Hawkins' The Villa in the idea that there's always more to the story than surface level. I think Rachel Hawkins did a great job of setting up the big reveals by peppering the story with other twists that weren't as surprising. If a book can have my attention, keep my attention, and continue to replay in my head even after finishing, I'd say it's a pretty good read.
I enjoyed this second book more than the first. This time around the mystery is kind of tangled up in Molly's past and I really liked getting a glimpse of that past as it's nice learning about her character and seeing her grow so much!
Such a great second chance / grumpy sunshine romance. The dual narration and alternating present to past chapters kept me hooked throughout and has left me with the worst book hangover (and I mean that in the best way possible). I kept hearing a lot of hype for this book before release and it lives up to everything! Highly recommend this one! #audiobook #romance #secondchanceromance
This has been my favorite summer #audiobook. Lucy Score packs an engaging story full of romance, friendship, family, home renovation, small town and even a little mystery. The pacing is spot on and And Emma Wilder does awesome with narration, truly making each character stand out on their own. Highly recommend this one. #romance #lucystone #emmawilder #contemporary
Another compulsive read from #alicefeeney. Even though I guessed one of the twists fairly early on I still couldn't put down this book as I just needed to figure out the over-arching consequences. A wonderful example of the locked room mystery trope. #mystery #thriller
I just couldn't get through this one. Very slow build up for something that I felt didn't give me the surprise or shock I was expecting. Both of the characters were unlikable which I think made the story lack that emotional connection with the suspense. The narrators both did a chillingly good job and I liked that we got dual narration. #Audiobook #mystery #suspense
I think I liked this one better than the first! The enterprising Dashwood sisters take up the investigation after they suspect their father had been murdered. A wonderful and fresh retelling of a story/author that's had their fair share of retellings. #mystery #retelling #senseandsensibility
I loved the idea of these two people on seemingly different sides finding their common ground in their love for each other. Christy Woods did a great job conveying all the angst and love of each character. #Romance #audiobook #historicalromance # secondchanceromance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finlay Donovan is navigating a sequel! This time trying to figure out who put a bit out on her ex husband. Of course Finlay gets pulled deeper and deeper into all the twists and turns but Elle Cosimano navigates everything really well leading up to a worthwhile conclusion. Angela Dawe is a great narrator and brings Finlay to life perfectly #arc #audiobook #mystery
A steadily paced look through the stacks of a university library housing thousands of priceless tomes. Liesel is thrust into a position of authority when her boss falls ill. Unfortunately Liesel must also contend with fundraisers, donors, missing manuscripts and a possible thief in their midst. #fiction #arc #debut
Loved this one more than the first! Caro and Val are the perfect match for one another. The sharp #mystery is paired with a #secondchanceromance which is always my cup of tea and balanced so well. Mary Jane Wells is a wonderful narrator really capturing the individuality of each character. And Manda Collins leaves a few bread crumbs to lead readers into the next book. #historical #audiobook
I love a good second chance romance and this one pretty much says it all in the title but I love how #sajnipatel not only tackles love and relationships here but also family obligation and how much our culture/beliefs play into our own happiness. It's often a difficult road, but the journey is worth it! Oh, and that cover 😍 #audiobook #romance #secondchanceromance #family #coverlove
I loved this book. I caught myself multiple times just sitting and listening to it with a big smile on my face! Taylor and Jamar just click from the getgo. Seeing them continue to persevere through their struggles while connecting with each other was fabulous. #thedatingplaybook #romance #farrahrochon #audio #arc
This one goes on my Best Of List for this year so far. Grady Hendrix hits the right spot with this meta commentary on the horror genre and the women you play the Final Girls. You will root for these characters. #horror #arc #gradyhendrix #bestof2021
Can't begin until I point out this GORGEOUS cover! Elizabeth Lim drew me in from page 1 and while there were some fleeting moments where things dragged a little too much, I loved having such a strong heroine in Shiori. I loved seeing her grow into her own person and I cannot wait to see that continue in the next book. #arc #ya #coverlove #fantasy #elizabethlim
This book completely threw me! I was not prepared for how quirky and fun this book was going to be. Once I had my bearings, this book about lady pirates and assassins of questionable loyalties has so far been one of my favorite reads of the year. I cannot wait to visit the Wisteria Society again to see what high-flying adventures come next! #historical #pirates #romance #debut #indiaholton #arc
I really have to give it to Charlie Jane Anders for creating such a popping sci-fi adventure. I love the commentary on identity and destiny that Tina has to decide who she wants to be on her own terms. Let us not forget that amongst all her fabulous novels for adults and YA Victoria (V.E.) Schwab has this great middle grade series. This time taking readers and heroine Cassidy Blake to New Orleans. I thought New Orleans has been center stage plenty of times, but leave it to Victoria Schwab to bring out some little-known gems about The Big Easy. #middlegrade #audio #ghosts #series
One of the best stories about grief and loss I've read in quite awhile. Not afraid to tackle those heavy topics but also leaving readers with so much hope. #arc #audio #fionalucas #thelastgoodbye
A new author for me. Loved the balance of mystery, suspense, humor, and romance. I cannot wait to solve more mysteries with Finlay Donovan! #mystery #arc #humor #romance #ellecosimano
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ A steady-paced, thought-provoking story about what it means to be human and how we are never as we seem on the surface. #scifi #coverlove #arc #fiction
A compelling story that certainly made me very invested in the outcome for the central couple. But gets a bit bogged down towards the end with too many obstacles leading up to that outcome. #historical #romance #arc #jennyashcroft
An interesting, plausible spin on the real-life mysterious disappearance of Agatha Christie. Focusing not on Agatha Christie one of the most well-known detective novelists ever, but on Agatha Christie the woman, mother, wife, daughter, and sister finding her own voice amongst all those labels. #historical #mystery #mariebenedict
So far Greer Macallister has never failed to draw me in, in a completely immersive way within her stories. The Arctic Fury will make you feel the frigid cold air in your bones, will make you feel the dedication and commitment of these women. And speaks a lot about our will to survive. #historical #mystery
I was highly anticipating this book and I'm so happy it lives up to it. I thought #mandacollins really balanced out the romance and the mystery really well. It's been awhile since I've read a good historical mystery. This one checks all the boxes. #mystery #historicalromance
After picking out my pumpkins yesterday, all I can think about is settling down for a reread of #pumpkinheads. This has ALL the feels of fall in one perfect package. #graphicnovel #rainbowrowell #faitherinhicks #fall
I fell hard into this book over the weekend. It gives me all the holiday feels. Snow, Christmas, family. I needed a book like this right now and it delivered. #contemporary #romance #holidays
Adrienne Young does for the swashbuckling pirate story what she did for Vikings in her debut #skyinthedeep. So much heart, so much perseverance. Plus that cover!! See the full review at vampirebookclub.net #ya #vbc #adrienneyoung #coverlove
Romina Garber takes the ideas of gender roles and identity, mixes them with South American Folklore, directly compares them with the issues many immigrants are facing today and delivers a masterfully put together book. See full review at VBC blog vampirebookclub.net #ya #folklore #vbc #arcreview
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved this one more than the first book! I am a sucker for a second chance romance and Milla Vane delivers! Cannot wait to see how the overarching storyline continues. #romance #secondchanceromance #fantasy #vikings
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ it's been awhile since a romance has 100% met every expectation I had set forth for it. But Sarah MacLean expertly built up Grace and Ewan's story from the beginning and wow does she give them the ending deserved. #historicalromance #romance #series #hea
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fresh and refreshing romance that also gives us wonderful female friendships! The pacing was on point. Every detail adds layers, representation, and gives voice without feeling like it's checking off a list.
A slow-burn mystery that I read compulsively. Loved the remote island setting and the way Lucy Foley carefully unfolds each minute detail until it all converges in a whodunit reminiscent of the classics. #mystery #lucyfoley
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐Beach Read is one of those books that you finish and wish you could turn around and read it for the first time again. All the merits of the romance genre are on full display. I loved the journey, I loved the discoveries. Pretty much loved everything about it. Highly recommended. You won't be sorry. #5star #contemporaryromance #beachread
While I'm not typically one for non-fiction reads, I will always stop and listen when Tori Amos speaks #toriamos #nonfiction #resistance

Anyone who has a Charley-size hole in your heart, Sunshine is here to fill it and maybe create a space of her own. You'll be pulled into the mystery and want to become a resident of Del Sol before it's all over. I'm ready to solve more mysteries with Sunshine #mystery #daryndajones
After finishing the latest in the series I wasn't quite ready to let the characters go so I decided to start from the beginning only this time in audio. Fantastic narration by Angele Masters. Loved hearing all the tiny clues in this first book that would continue to pop up in the other books in the series. #audiobook #reread #veronicaspeedwell #mystery
It's time. I can't wait any longer. Let's begin..... #mystery #veronicaspeedwell
Edit to add: Finished. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐While the mystery didn't go quite as expected, I'm happy any time I get to accompany Veronica and Stoker on an adventure. I think readers will enjoy seeing where this one leaves the pair at the end!!
An interesting and thought-provoking!read about the judicial system and the responsibility of the jury of peers
I really liked this one. It brings an interesting perspective to the time travel trope plus so much more #arc #timetravel
Absolutely love these new covers for #TheLunarChronicles. #coverlove
The Unwilling is a sprawling, winding story. Kelly Braffet‘s writing is engrossing. The careful planning of each little detail can be deftly felt. The magic, what is known in this fictitious world as the Work, is intriguing in the way it connects those with the talent. But The Unwilling is also not an easy read, but somehow I kept finding my way back to it again and again. For that, it wove some kind of spell over me. vampirebookclub.net
