The first book of 2025! For my irl book club, written by a cellist, the wedding scene is full of all the horrors you know he has played. It was highly amusing and I enjoyed it highly.

This was such a good cottage read. The story of three friends weathering the roller coaster of life together has serious Ya-Ya Sisterhood vibes. It can be a little cheesy at times, but also made me laugh out loud and root for the Supremes through it all. Plus there is the drunken/stoned ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt.

1. I loved this book, and I‘d love to see Tyler Perry adapt it. The wedding scene alone would be great to see on screen.
2. I don‘t really know #Indiana, but I think it would be fun to visit Bloomington.

1. Yes! @theladygreer and @ChrisBohjalian and maybe more?
2. Hmm. Not really.
3. The tagged book. It‘s sweet and poignant and also has one of the funniest wrecked wedding scenes ever. #wondrouswednesday
This may be my favorite book this year. I loved the characters, each character was achingly human. I found it funny, sad, and poignant. A bit heavy if you're looking for a light read, but very worth a read if you are in the mood for something a little heavier.
Some days this is just the reminder I need! Have a wonderful day!❤
Well just recently it was Dolly Parton's Songteller. The book thief. The last days of summer. I'm a huge crybaby though so lots of things make me cry 😀 @Cuilin @Megabooks thanks for the tag! #fridayfeelings
Engrossing and engaging story of the deep friendship between three Black women in southern Indiana. Moore does an impressive job of writing women characters. Both funny and sad, it‘s a great summer read with some heft to it.
1. Ava's Man by Rick Bragg, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk
2. Tagged book & sequel! A patron came into the library and asked for uplifting funny Southern lit and had read everything typical (Fannie Flagg, Lee Smith)
3. Five. Also have 4 holds placed in various formats. I actually have Lillian Boxfish checked out in both audio and print. #weekendreads @rachelsbrittain #librariansoflitsy
I give this a thumbs up because it made me laugh out loud in the dentist waiting room while my son was getting a checkup. My favourite part, the ghosts that talk to one of the main characters....they are FUNNY.
A fun read/listen. With friends like the Supremes, you‘d be set for life.
I liked it. It's all about the characters/relationships. Somewhat reminiscent of Terry McMillan's and Fannie Flagg's work.
A book club choice, this takes place in a fictional southern Indiana town (my home state). It‘s about three middle-aged women and their ups and downs throughout the years. Reminded me a lot of southern fiction, which I can give or take. Wouldn‘t say I loved it, but it was decent and a light, easy read.
Good morning from Juneau! What‘s everyone reading today?

The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat Buffet by Edward Kelsey Moore - 5*
Odette, Clarice, and Barbara Jean are 3 very different young women who form a bond of incredible friendship. Their story is told over a few years decades, with the use of flashbacks.
The greatest quality of this book is that it touches on some very hard facts of life while also being extremely hilarious.
This may be my favorite book of the year, so fa
Loved this book. I laughed, I cried, I cant wait to read the sequel

My library sells used books. $4 for all three. Oh the joy! 😍
Edward Kelsey Moore (EKM) is extremely talented when it comes to describing relationships. My #FavLiteraryCouple is Odette & James from EKM‘s first book.

I really enjoyed this story of friendship. It had a lot of humor, but covered some serious issues. The characters were great and I couldn‘t help but like them all despite their flaws. Read for #pbt decathlon challenge and #popsugar challenge (Author a different ethnicity).
Loved, loved, loved this one. It was a page turner for me. Family, friends, death and finding love again all in one.
Next up. I'm appearing with the author at Bookfest St Louis next month, so...
I really loved this #ownvoices book about 3 women of colour - friends for decades. It's about how their life changed, what happens now that they're old, what will happen in the future. 5/5 ⭐️
😊it was truly a good visit to Plainview, Indiana to see the lives of the Supremes unfold. It was honest & funny; the characters reminded me if some of my own relatives. There's gossip, racism, mysticism & DV but you'll still want to be a part if the community.
This was another find through the summer #readinglist at my library a few years ago. It's a touching story of friendship, family, and community. There's also a hilarious wedding scene that reads like John Irving meets Tyler Perry. #whitewedding #rockinmay
Okay book. But the acknowledgements, incredible!
Pick! Edward Kelsey Moore wanted to capture the friendship between women, and he does so successfully as we follow "The Supremes" through births, marriage and deaths.
An enjoyable book about friendship, life, and the forces beyond. Also an excellent audio option when stitching. #litsystitchers
For #favbookishfriendships I immediately thought of Clarice, Barbara Jean & Odette. If they could adopt me as a friend, I'd be a lucky gal. If you want a book that shows the highs & lows of being in a relationship, this is that book. #Augustphotochallenge @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
I really enjoyed this book. It's a story about family and community, and especially the particular kind of friendship that grows through sharing many years and experiences. There are parts that will make you angry, parts will make you cry, and a wedding that will make you laugh until you cry.
