JUSTINE KNOWS SHES GOING TO DIE. ANY SECOND NOW. Justine Jones has a secret. A hardcore hypochondriac, shes convinced a blood vessel is about to burst in her brain. Then, out of the blue, a startlingly handsome man named Packard peers into Justines soul and invites her to join his private crime-fighting team. Its a once-in-a-lifetime deal. With a little of Packards hands-on training, Justine can weaponize her neurosis, turning it outward on Midcitys worst criminals, and finally get the freedom from fear shes always craved. End of problem. Or is it? In Midcity, a dashing police chief is fighting a unique breed of outlaw with more than human powers. And while Justines first missions, including one against a nymphomaniac husband-killer, are thrilling successes, there is more to Packard than meets the eye. Soon, while battling her attraction to two very different men, Justine is plunging deeper into a world of wizardry, eroticism, and cosmic secrets. With Packards help, Justine has freed herself from her madnessonly to discover a reality more frightening than anyones worst fears. From the Paperback edition.

#TarotTakeover #FourOfCups

The card drawn by @Meaw_catlady and @ErinSueMreads is about the dangers of focusing on one cup so much that we fail to notice the other three. This kind of narrow vision reminds me of Justine Jones from the tagged book. Justine is a hypochondriac so consumed by her anxiety that it begins to take over her life, costing her jobs and relationships. Wrestling with anxiety myself, I found Justine‘s journey to be cathartic.⬇️

DaveGreen7777 Granted, the book is a paranormal urban fantasy, but I was still able to relate to Justine struggling with an invisible illness. The anxiety and exhaustion she feels is all too real! The snarky humor and fantasy elements in this story are a lot of fun, but the emotions Justine went through rang true and added some gravitas to the novel as well! (edited) 4y
Branwen Wow! Nice choice, my friend! 🤗💕 Also, this book looks amazing! 😲 4y
DaveGreen7777 @Branwen Thank you! 😁 I think you‘d really like this book, it‘s a rather unique urban fantasy adventure! 😀 4y

Mehso-so

Justine is a hypochondriac who is able to transfer her hypochondria to others (lamest superpower ever) and is hired by a high functioning psychic to 'zing' dangerous targets. First person narrative from a hypochondriac is as enthralling as it sounds. Protagonist is a bit dull - seems her only personality trait is hypochondria or horniness. Otherwise, interesting concept and decently executed.

Meaw_catlady I need to read the tagged! If it‘s your recommendation! 5y
DaveGreen7777 @Meaw_catlady If you‘re looking for a fun urban fantasy adventure with a hysterically snarky lead heroine, I highly recommend it! 😁👍 5y
Meaw_catlady I‘m interested :) 5y
Kaila-ann Thanks for the tag 😊 5y
DaveGreen7777 @Kaila-ann 😊😊😊 5y
Erofan I love ice cream, too, and in the summer I can eat a ton of it! 🍦🍧🍨 Thanks for the tag 🤗 5y
DaveGreen7777 @Erofan 🤗🤗🤗 5y
BooknerdsLife I‘ve just watched Spider-Man 🕷last week too 😍 I think it‘s much better than last one 🤗 Did you enjoy it? 5y
DaveGreen7777 @BooknerdsLife I liked Far From Home more than Homecoming, too! Michael Keaton was phenomenal in the first Spidey movie, but I thought that movie just tried too hard to be silly at times. In Far From Home, I thought the humor worked a lot better, and I loved what they did with Mysterio! 😀 5y
BooknerdsLife @DaveGreen7777 Totally agree! No one can compete with Michael Keaton 👏🏼 But maybe that‘s why they put focus of the comic relief on other actors? 🤔 Love Mysterio and those illusion scenes towards the end were so great! Love it! 5y
DaveGreen7777 @BooknerdsLife YAS! That whole illusion sequence was probably my favorite moment in the movie, it was so well done, and so true to the Mysterio of the comics! 😱 5y
BooknerdsLife @DaveGreen7777 IKR! My mind was blown away by those scenes 😱Want to watch the movie again just to experience it again! 😆🕷 5y

@Eggs Thank you for another #WondrousWednesday 😊

1. Nay. It isn‘t really feasible with my schedule. 😔
2. Recently I was the last person left in the office on a Friday. A particularly heavy metal song came on the radio, and I started screaming out the lyrics... only to discover someone had come back in and was staring at me! 🙈
3. Tagged! One of the most hilariously snarky book heroines ever! 💁‍♀️
4. Tonight I‘ll be going back to Roshar! 😉

Eggs My pleasure-it‘s so lovely seeing everyone‘s experiences! Love the office singing-I‘ve been caught at that (and random dancing) a time or 3 🤦🏼‍♀️ 5y

wanderinglynn Thanks for playing! 😀 6y
Stacy_31 We finished at the same time. 😆 Thanks for the tag! I used to play Phase 10 with my mom- it‘s a fun one. Do you play euchre? That‘s one game I never understood, but people out here don‘t seem to know what it is anyway. 6y
Suzze @Stacy_31 my kids played Euchre a lot in high school, and they‘d make me play if they needed a body. I never liked it, as I was brought up on Pinochle. 6y

MaggieCarr Thanks for the tag but I despise all things non-books on Litsy. It's not what it was intended for. 6y
Stacy_31 Oh ok. I‘m not familiar with that one, either. My mom and grandma held card parties and played it, but never taught the kids. 6y
Betty @MaggieCarr I tagged a book by this author who taught us weekly and wrote this, so YES my post is book related 😊 6y
Suzze @MaggieCarr Oops, sorry. I won‘t tag you again. 6y

1. Somewhat, but often it‘s the titles that grab me.
2. I love to read anywhere outside. I have a patio at home.
3. I usually stop at a break or chapter except when I read in bed, then it‘s wherever I‘ve tried to read the same page 10 times but keep falling asleep.
4. I love book clips! Best invention since hairspray!
5. Yes I did! 😂😂

SilversReviews Oh yes...I forgot about those book clips. I actually quite a few of them. One is a typewriter....so cute. The others are flags with sayings on them. Titles are a draw too. Thanks for playing. (edited) 6y
