3️⃣5️⃣ The Last Tale of the Flower Bride ➡️ 3️⃣6️⃣ Bed of Roses
#ThingsInCommon: flowers in titles and on covers
While this book is just as fun and engaging as the rest of the series, the final conflict/resolution annoys the bejeebers out of me and makes it my least favorite of the quartet. I just get very aggravated that the whole thing is blamed on poor Jack who has had a horrific day at work and has a throbbing headache and comes home to have Emma immediately get hurt feelings about something she's never discussed and then she just goes off on him and ⬇️
Of the four books in the Brides Quartet, this is my least favorite. However, I still really like it and would recommend it to anyone who wants a likeable romance with a set of strong female characters that support each other. This series is the first I had ever read of Nora Roberts, and I have reread it several times.
This was a cute chick flick style romance. I think what threw me is that I didn‘t connect to the main character enough. She has ideas of romance that are very traditionally romantic, almost story book. It was a bit much for me at times, and made it feel less realistic. But that‘s just because I have different ideas of the type of romance I want in my relationships.
I am interested in reading the next two to learn about the other friends.
The second in this quartet is probably my least favorite of the series. Jack's issues feel very similar to the ones from the first book, and Jack and Emma's relationship seems more physical-oriented. Still, it's a fun and happy read. I love the way this series weaves together.
The second book in the Brides Quartet, this was a sweet romance, but I think the first book in the series was better. I enjoyed watching Jack and Emma‘s relationship bloom and was happy for their chance at a happily ever after. I love following the friendship shared between Parker, Emma, Mackensie and Laurel and who doesn‘t love wedding themed romances!
A little slower than the first book in the series but still a cute love story that will give you all of the feels!
I got everything accomplished today that I wanted to so I am going to curl up with my book!! #currentreads #30junebooks @howjessreads
This one was not as good as the first, but still enjoyable.
Road tripping for our week vacation. Something light and fun for the ride.
I was planning to read a few of my favorite childhood books for the #throwbackreadathon today. But, we've done a wedding section in the upcoming issue of the magazine I work at and spending all this time on wedding pages has me reminiscing about my own. So I decided to reread Nora Roberts' bride quartet instead because I first read it when planning my own wedding 7 years ago. Starting book 2 and here's a picture from my wedding 👰❤️
This book was slow in comparison to the first one. Stick with it. Its worth it.
Winsome romance with a sweetheart heroine and steamy sex. FTW. Thanks for the rec, @Zelma
I loved this quote--she's right that the "unconscious slight's worse," because it always feels MORE true.
I was underwhelmed with the first book of this series, but liked the wedding business and the friendship that the series is built around. Thankfully I stuck with it, because this book was really enjoyable! The things I disliked about Vision in White are no longer present; I liked this heroine much more, the reasons keeping Emma and love interest apart are legitimate, the sex scenes were hot, and the romance was really sweet and dreamy.
Yup, it's that kind of evening. Mindless Nora Roberts, wine, and The Princess Bride in the background. 💕
The story was a bit better, maybe because the background had already been developed from book 1. But obviously everything can't be amazing from cover to cover, and the happy couple goes from perfect relationship, to overly dramatic breakup to engaged all in the last 20 pages 🙄🙄🙄. And of course I haven't learned my lesson and will surely continue on to book 3 😂
Not as annoying as I remember! The first time I read it I thought the heroine was irritating and wimpy, but she's not; she's just fine
sweet love story 💓💝💞👍 #bedofroses #bridequartet #Emma #Jack #thebestbook #loveit #favorite #sweetstory #beautiful #romance #contemporary #romantsy
This series is different from the other Nora Roberts Series I have read. This is what I need though fluff and romance. On to book three.
