Good audiobook.
Good audiobook.
Obviously, I bought this based on the title. While it's kind of self-indulgent of the author, there are some valid, realistic life experiences that she's shared that can be valid, realistic ways to improve your own life. I'm not a twenty-something, so I'm not in the target market, but that doesn't mean I can't take something useful from her words. Buy yourself the f*cking lilies. #56-2023
I'm thankful I read and finished this. Self-help, mental illness, addiction, humor
5⭐
I'm a couple of chapters in and getting alot from it.

i finally picked this book up again ... and it's made me think
It is a #DNF for me on this one. Maybe just not in the mood or the right phase of life. Just not for me. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

This is maybe not the highest brow book I could have chosen, but I picked it for exceeding my expectations. As I remember it, the author documents her journey of digging herself out of a life hole and building one she loved in a way that seemed practical and real and not full of cringey platitudes.
Thanks for the tag @CaitZ @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Practical self help is the best kind. This book is not technical, scientific, deep, or intensely emotional. It provides little, achievable suggestions for being kinder to yourself.
More please! Hands down one of the best “self-help” books I‘ve read with practical ways to create more joy in your life EVERY day. I‘ve been in a slump, lots of life changes, lots of people exiting my life for various reasons so this was right on time! Don‘t let anybody dim your light!
Enjoyed this a lot. One small issue: pretty sure no one should breathe in incense or other smoky things like that. I‘m not a medical professional or anything, but yuck! Otherwise I thought this was good and useful - and also funny ❤️
One of the most actually helpful books I‘ve read. She doesn‘t sugar coat anything, her life has been brutal in a lot of ways and that helps. You kind of think that if she‘s managed to pull herself together then surely her advice is worth following. I recommend this highly for anyone who has had a messed up childhood and relationship with parents but who doesn‘t want an academic, heavy or weepy book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Is it terrible to say that I love the cover more than the book itself……Good reminders for life thou!
This was fun. The format really worked for me in that there‘s actionable ideas at the end of each section. If I‘m going to read a self help book, I want it to be down to earth, legit, and contain cuss words. She hit the mark on all of it, so I‘d definitely recommend ✊
This was the right book to come along at the right time for me. It‘s not perfect, but there were a handful of things that stuck in small corners of my heart. Grateful for unexpected teachers.
As others have said, there‘s really nothing new here, and Schuster has a love of Brene Brown that I do not share, but sometimes messaging comes when you need it and when it comes from multiple sources, maybe it‘s time to listen. Time to pick up a journal and start writing, and time to buy yourself the f*cking lilies. 💐
Positive read leaning on self help but with the author admitted issues and working through them via this book and lots of self love... anyways buy the 💐⚘🌷🌻🌹💐 we are all in this together lovey
Just brilliant. Tara strikes a perfect balance between helpful advice and hilarious anecdotes. None of the advice was particularly ground breaking but she‘s so persuasive it makes you want to go out and try it all. I am already putting some of her rituals into daily life. I need a hardback copy of this book to refer back to - although I did enjoy the audio.
A more realistic self-care book that really motivated me. I listened to the audio and now am buying the book. There is some cheese in it, like her Paris trip and big splurge, so obviously she has money, but that wasn‘t the point and it wasn‘t an eat pray love travel the world on your trust fund and come to to enlightenment book. It‘s a set your goals, save for the big purchases & travel & treat yourself right book. For that I am grateful.
I created my own vision board. I wanted few images as they can distract me. I settled on a picture I like of myself and wrote my goals down. Simple goals. I am loving this book more than most self-care books and yes it‘s cheesy but I find Tara Schuster convincing and practical in her self-care approach and relatable as a person.

This is my mantra today. I f*cking love this rebel deck. It gives me straight up sarcastic yet positive goals for the day. So today I will be grateful because even though the world is cray I
1.get to go to work today!
2.paid off most my credit card and hope to have it completely paid off by the end of the month, thanks tax season!
3.spoke with my sister today to start it off right.
Pretty much loved this. Finding that sweet spot between over indulgence and little pick-me-ups is key. I liked Schuster‘s philosophy on journaling for discovery, treating yourself with respect, and just adopting an all-around positive attitude. Much of this I already believe/do for myself but it‘s nice to hear the reinforcement. I enjoyed the bits throughout about the author‘s own life experiences. 🌸
For #thinkpositivebepositive #thoughtfulmoment today.
There's always going to be other people who are gonna want to judge you. My best advice is the earlier you can stop caring so much about other people's views of who you are or who you should be the happier you really are going to be. It's something I've struggled with a lot because at heart I'm a people pleaser. Fight that shit. Fight it so hard, because it only hurts you. 💕
I think Tara would support a lazy Sunday morning in bed with a book. And therefore, I‘m very glad to have this particular book for said lazy Sunday morning in bed. Laugh-out-loud funny but also so genuine and heartfelt, it has none of the saccharine and put-on tones of other “self-help” books by “experts,” and I‘m loving it. I‘d definitely want to hang out with her. #buyyourselfthefuckinglilies #taraschuster
I would be halfway done this book if I wasn‘t underlining and tabbing pages. This is the first self help style book I‘ve read that I connect to. It makes me want to better myself and I love how Tara Schuster writes.
I love this quote I found on Tara Schuster‘s Instagram
💐
I am not very far in this book and I am already marking it up and tabbing pages.
I‘d give these pens a 4 out of 5. I can tell I used them, but they do not bleed onto the other page or make reading where I‘ve underlined or written on the page before hard. And they write nice.
Attempting to read this one today, but I have had a headache for hours and had to finish season 2 of Umbrella Academy. I am really hoping that sleep helps.
I went to Target and treated myself to somethings. Unf*ckology came from Amazon, but the other things I picked up. I am going into a self-improvement mode this month after having a few anxiety attacks in July (one while at work which is super embarrassing for me). The pens will hopefully be true to their word and not bleed through the pages. Also could not resist the Baby Yoda.
I'm officially obsessed with this self-help book that just might help me actually fix my life!
