Another from my shelves that I haven‘t yet read, but hope to get to soon. Sounds good!

Well… this was not the ‘book about books‘ I was expecting when the title caught my eye at the library! Comes with a lot of trigger warnings, a really heartfelt story about found family.
“I was strongly worried about growing old in a country of non-readers.”
What a great story. Saw it in the Culture section of BBC.com.
I‘m not quite sure about this. It‘s not really about books. And in some parts it‘s really tragic, but I felt like the language didn‘t fit the perspective of the little boy, from which this story is told.
Sometimes I worry that life is just the journey between toilets.
I‘m a sucker for #booksaboutbooks so I couldn‘t not take this with me when it was on display in my library. Excited!
Some #booksaboutbooks that I‘ve enjoyed, except the tagged book still TBR.

Both heartbreaking and heart warming. Bobby, a young friendless boy embarks on a journey both in real life and through the books he discovers. Expertly written to show the understanding of a young mind, Whitehorse captures the love and need of adventure perfectly.
"He recognised loneliness when he saw it. Noisy crowds that swirl around the silence in the centre where you sit. An irrepressible ache made by the melody of other people's laughter"
Some more bookish birthday presents. Check out my globe bookends! ❤
This book unsettled me. Like the characters in the story, I misunderstood the relationships between Bobby, Val and Rose. I appreciated how highly books were valued in their lives providing means of escape. I felt a sense of uncertainty while reading that did not disappear at the abrupt ending. As so many characters mentioned, "life has no ending:it just keeps going"; it felt like the story kept going beyond the last page.
Another awesome Dollar Tree find! This one looks really good! #eternalTBR
I love being pleasantly surprised by a book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Today would be an excellent day to be at home snuggled up with my dogs and finishing Mobile Library and starting another book from this stack while it snows. However, my employer has other ideas. #denied #bookblock
As the saying goes, killing 2 birds with one stone. (Although I would never condone killing a bird, or two. I love all animals, except snakes. I digress.)
Anywho, this is my reading spot. As you can see, it is occupied. This is Munchkin - she is my reading buddy, and my general shadow. I have 3 other pets, but they requested no photographs, please.
This is also the next book I'm starting. That is all.

This was such a great and heart-warming read that I'm even more than ready to overlook a few plotholes (like which icecream van is open at sunrise on a late autumn day?). 😊 It's a book about the power of imagination, the crippling effects of grief, the overwhelming feelings of parental love and the influence of books. I loved the characters, the different settings, the wonderful imagery. ❤️
I'm really enjoying this book so far, especially the literary references to all kinds of other works. 🤓📚🚌
