Loved and devoured

Finished this one on Friday. It was really good. Lots of twists and turns. Such a great book for an #AudioCommute as it kept me engaged and I didn't have to think about how cold and ugly it was outside! Ha! Anyway, I will have to check out more from this author :) #LibbyLoan

So good! I'm a big fan of the Rory/Lane dynamic and hoping that this sequel turns into a longer series for the duo! 👏🏽

Rory and Lane head to Indiana to investigate a cold case from an elite school. Two teenagers murdered, teacher jumps in front of a train before he can be arrested, and now, a year later, witnesses from that night are committing suicide!

Book 2 of this fascinating series. Lane is asked to help with a podcast featuring the Westwood Prep murders. Seems the students involved are killing themselves. Rory is tempted by Lane to assist the case as there might be a cold case involved. So many twists make this an exciting and excellent book!

Who hasn't played???

I liked this one a lot. This is a straight up murder mystery. And it has a lot of parts without being overly complicated. The main detectives are fun and quirky. I think there are other books but this stands alone pretty well.

But, are these suicides really murders? I look forward to reading Charlie Donlea's other books. He led me to believe that I knew who the murderer was. With brilliant twists at the end, I was truly fooled. Recommended.

Ryder, Rory, Gus, Lane, and Mack try to figure out why the survivors of a slaughter are committing suicide. Alternating between past and present, and inside the heads of a reporter, a podcaster, a detective, a criminal profiler, and the students themselves, we learn that there are a lot of secrets involved in this twisty tale. A lot of secrets. The characters and format worked well together to peel back what really happened at an elite school.

The Suicide House pulls you immediately into the book where there are many moving pieces. Several characters are introduced setting the stage of mystery and suspense. In the introduction to the story, someone confesses to pushing his brother in front of a train which kills him. It makes you wonder about all the apparent suicides which were reported after the tragic “accident” at the private boarding school.

Wow! This is the first book I have read by Charlie Donlea so did not know what to expect. I am happy to report that the book, a psychological thriller, was amazing! What a wild ride! I was immediately drawn into this story. The pieces of the puzzle would fall into place but always one critical piece withheld. The ending was spectacular.

There was never a boring moment in this book; something always happening.

I thought this book was going to be unputdownable from the first page, how wrong I was. It felt like a YA suspense novel more to me than an adult suspense novel.

Set at Westmont Prep School, a few select Junior's get a chance to enter a private club. As an initiation to this club the Juniors must face the man in the mirror.
