bookishkai @wanderinglynn Yeah, interesting is the right word. I think it comes from when my town used to be part of Massachusetts and kids from a neighboring town went to my high school. But it‘s kind of infectious, like Townie Pride is actually a thing and even though I hated high school there‘s still a nostalgia for Friday night football games (see: marching band). (edited) 6y

djh I‘m a huge Pete fan! I retired from teaching (Reading Specialist) 2 yrs ago and couldn‘t wait to introduce kids to each of Pete‘s books. Now, I get to read them with my granddaughter. 6y

bookishkai @djh I was an ECE teacher and then a nanny for pretty much all of my professional life until I became disabled by a stroke last year. My last two sets of nanny kids *loved* Pete! There‘s nothing cuter than a toddler reading Four Groovy Buttons to herself: ā€Pete cry? Oodness no, button come and button go.ā€¯ 6y
