This is a F book that could be a RA or S. Pete goes to school and sings his song about his shoes which seems to keep him confident throughout his busy and stressful day at school. #UCFLAE3414F17

This book is a TL that can be used as a RA, GR, or SR. We all know the story of the three little pigs but not from the wolf‘s point of view. Point of view would be a great lesson to cross reference both of the stories. This book also won the Notable Children‘s Recordings award in 2009. #UCFLAE31414F17

LaurenR ESOL Strategies: #45-use Venn diagrams to contrast and compare activities. #30-encourage the use of diagrams and drawings as aids to identify concepts and seeing relationships. UDL Principles: #4.1-vary the methods for response and navigation. #5.2-use multiple tools for construction and composition. 6y
AlexaDP I wanted to do this book for one of my posts, but I couldn‘t figure out what the book itself was called! This one and the little red riding hood book are two of my favorites because it shows different perspectives! 6y

AJones Thank you for sharing this unique lesson plan. There are so many great ideas to choose from. In addition, it‘s very descriptive and adaptable for middle school students. I am still reading this amazing book. I have to say each character was nicely brought to life in the movie. I noticed a few details from the book that were omitted or stretched for a more dramatic effect in the movie. 📖 vs. 🎥 #ucflae3414f17 #WONDER 6y

Letters to a Prisoner | Jacques Goldstyn

This HF book is very interesting because it only has pictures. It highlights human rights & unjust imprisonment in the world today. Students have the ability to let the pictures guide the story & write their own. #UCFLAE3414F17

LaurenR UDL: #2.4-promote understanding across languages. #3.3-guide information processing, visualization, and manipulation. (edited) 6y
LaurenR ESOL: #11-place language in meaningful context. #32-use student pairs for team learning, especially for reports, experiments, and projects. 6y
LaurenR You could use this as a GR or AS, maybe S. This could be a history lesson where you incorporate rights & standing up for rights. Students could create their own story line using the book. Students could also write a letter to a current prisoner if they are learning about how the prison system works or they could write about International Human Rights Day. Many things can be done with this book in my opinion. (edited) 6y
DrSpalding I would have to see this book and read it to confirm my thoughts however I am thinking that even though it is a picture book it may not be appropriate for elementary age students. 6y

I love Finding Winnie! This Caldecott award winner gives background to our favorite cartoon Winnie-the-pooh, a children's all time favorite. This book is a B that goes over the journey of Winnie, who found Winnie, and the creation of our favorite Winnie-the-pooh. What makes it interesting is the setting and events occurring throughout the book. #UCFLAE3414F17

LaurenR Due to many different words throughout this book I would use this as an ESOL #5 strategy to teach new vocabulary. ESOL #14 could also be used to increase students ability to follow text in secondary language. 6y
LaurenR I would use two UDL's: 2.1: clarify vocabulary and symbols & 3.2: highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas, and relationships. There is a lot of uncommon vocabulary because of the setting, which would be great to define & highlight for the students better understanding. There are many relationships and critical features within this book that need to be pointed out for further understanding. This could be done during a GR. 6y
