Not what I expected but has an understanding that everyone can relate to. Can‘t wait to finish this one and read the second.

This Caldecott award winner explains what happens and what the animals do once winter comes. The Big Snow is an MF due to some of the animals talking. It can be used as a GR or RA. This is a great read especially since we are in Florida because we don‘t experience this as much as those up north. We usually see the animals come to us, not leave us. #UCFLAE3414F17

Out of My Mind is a RF New York Times Best seller by Sharon M. Draper. It highlights the struggles & similarities of a young girl with cerebral palsy. As future educators it is important to understand the misconceptions of those that may have exceptional abilities & to do our best to help them succeed as Melody‘s parents, family friends, & teachers did throughout the story. #UCFLAE3414F17
The Dot is an amazing book, inspiring children to believe in their own creativity. This RF would be a great RA or GR. This story is wonderful in helping children to build that foundation to believe in themselves and to share that confidence with other children. This book won The Christopher Award as well.
This F book is so comical!! Snappsy is going about his life when one someone starts to interrupt it by narrating everything he's doing. It also shows someone's perspective of an alligator compared to what Snappsy is actually doing. At the end you figure out who the narrator is, so fun! This book would be a great S, GR, RT, and maybe even a RA. #UCFLAE3414F17
This HF book is very interesting because it only has pictures. It highlights human rights & unjust imprisonment in the world today. Students have the ability to let the pictures guide the story & write their own. #UCFLAE3414F17

The Rainbow Fish is a classic F children's book that is definitely a must read. The Rainbow fish learns how sharing with others can bring new friends. This is a great book for RA and GR, the UDL I would use is 9.2: facilitate personal coping skills and strategies; this book helps children learn how to be kind to others & how far that kindness can get you.
Barnaby Never Forgets is about a rabbit that never forgets anything but can't possibly find his glasses. Then he ends up at school on the weekend. This F story shows children that anyone can make mistakes, like forgetting what day it is. This would be a great RA book. I would use ESOL standard #3 & #4 to enhance positive self esteem & to link text to prior experiences such as forgetting their homework or lunch.
