Too much action, not enough character growth for my taste. I liked Stellan Gios though.

I really don't know why these series of The High Republic don't work for me. The YA titles are so enjoyable, but the ones written for a wider audience just don't get to me. They often bore me and I loose track of who is who. The ratings say that I'm once again in team #unpopularopinion 😔 I keep trying for the #StarWarsBuddyRead but it seem like those titles aren't written for me...

My favorite so far in The High Republic timeline. I‘m not a big fan of THR since it‘s really only dealing with a single issue and that‘s told in 3 different versions most of the time (A/YA/MG) but, since I don‘t run the publisher…lol. Marchion Ro is my fave character so far too.

This is the second book in the High Republic series & in this one the Nihil attack at the New Republic's big fair. Also there is dissension in the Nihil ranks & flying dragon like creatures.

April's #StarWarsBuddyRead was part 2 in the Thrawn Ascendancy trilogy Greater Good. What did everyone think? I enjoyed it but would have liked a little more Thrawn in Thrawn.

I may have been 15 minutes late to work today finishing this book. The Republic Fair is set to be a spectacle for the Galaxy to marvel at, but it is also a prime target for the Nihil. Pulls in a great new anti-hero character from the comics and provides a well-paced thrilling story.
Well crap. The High Republic era of Star Wars has hit me hard and I‘m feeling it all. I started this story about 6 months ago, but hadn‘t picked it up in a bit. I‘m so glad I finally made time to sit and finish this wonderful novel. Something I don‘t do often is cry when reading, but Cavan Scott definitely made that happen a lot throughout this one. Absolutely superb, 10/10.
I've throughly enjoyed the new Star Wars series set before the Empire and the 9 movie series. The series allows readers to enjoy new heroes and villains without being all tied up in the Skywalker saga.

1. Tagged. I'm enjoyed the whole High Republic series.
2. Kill The Farm Boy. If done correctly, it would be a fun Monty Pythonque adventure. I wish I could say The House on the Cerulean Sea, but I know Hollywood would totally $#ck it up!
3. I'm grateful one of my best friends got a job interview that went well. She's been out of work for almost a year.

I enjoyed this even more than the first book of the series. With all the characters established, this one was able to concentrate on action, mostly dealing with the Nihil's attack on the Republic faire and the aftermath (The Republic Strikes Back?). There is an annoying cliffhanger ending, so I'm more than eager for the next book. 5 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫
As much as I love Star Wars, I‘m finding it hard to concentrate on this book. I just haven‘t been impressed with the new era of High Republic. In other books and eras it has been many villains and adventures. This one however if feels like the same stories over and over. It‘s always the Nihil 🙄
“Star Wars: The Rising Storm is gripping from page one! Just… wow!”

The plot of the story is great, yet extremely dark. The book is loaded with destruction and death. Scott explores new areas of the Force and how the Jedi can manipulate it for the greater good, and also abuse it. The Nihil are disgusting, geocidal maniacs. Yet, Scott creates a unique power struggle within the group that somehow leaves you routing for one of the villains in a strange twisted way.
