21st Birthday
21st Birthday: (Womens Murder Club 21) | James Patterson
17 posts | 19 read | 4 to read
In the latest instalment in the globally bestselling Women's Murder Club series, SFPD Sergeant Lindsay Boxer vows to protect a twenty-year-old victim long enough to see her twenty-first birthday. Lindsay Boxer has sworn to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic. As Lindsay prepares to celebrate her own daughter's birthday, she clashes with rising Chief Charlie Clapper over a family case. When a distraught mother pleads with Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas to investigate the disappearance of her daughter, Linda, and baby granddaughter, Lorrie, Cindy immediately loops in SFPD. But Linda's schoolteacher husband, Lucas Burke, tells a conflicting story that paints Linda as a wayward wife, not a missing person. And there's reason to believe he may be telling the truth. While M.E. Claire Washburn harbours theories that run counter to the police investigation of the Burke case, ADA Yuki Castellano sizes Lucas up as a textbook domestic offender - until he puts forward a theory of his own that unexpectedly connects the dots on a constellation of copycat killings. If what Lucas tells law enforcement has even a grain of truth, there isn't a woman in the state of California who's safe from the reach of such an unspeakable threat.

Murders with lots of twists; you don‘t know who to believe, and neither does Detective Boxer. A father and a son blame each other, Claire recuperates from surgery, and we don‘t know which man is the real killer until the end.

This series is always a great read. Although the last 5 chapters became too extensive and dragged out. But still enjoyable 😊

Did enjoy this book, had lots of turns. Only disappointed bit was the ending, just finishes far to quickly 📖 still a good read though 😁

I think its good time to actually retire Women's Murder Club...
This is a good read...But for me, some of it has lost its appeal...At times, I feel that some scenes are repeated across books...

⭐⭐⭐ I used to love this series, but the last few have just been mediocre. The best thing about the series has always been the interaction with the women of the club. But this one lacked that almost entirely. The plot was ok, I guess, but nothing special. Glad I borrowed this one.

One of my favorite times of year is getting my little paws on the new Women‘s Murder Club. I started it around 1:00, and am already almost 200 pages in despite having had to come to work. (#priorities 😂) What a ride so far. I‘m so stressed. 😂 #21stbirthday #womensmurderclub #jamespatterson #maxinepaetro
