This was a complex, twisty Sci-Fi/Mystery and I really enjoyed it. I did get a little lost at times, but that may be due to listening instead of reading with my eyes. I liked the characters, the pacing, and the plot. There were a couple of things towards the end that I found confusing, but it didn‘t dampen my overall enthusiasm for the story. The audiobook is well narrated, too.

I couldn‘t help being charmed in the end by this time travel novel, even though it tested my patience at times. It took me a while to get into but once I did, I was swept along. The MC, January, is head of security at a hotel where guests stay as they await their time travel journeys. A murder takes place ahead of an auction for the sale of the hotel, and January has to keep the peace while solving the mystery. ⬇️

I loved the idea of the hotel, but I was expecting more time travel. This story focuses more on action and mystery. I still recommend this book, and will read more from the author.

January Cole is the security chief of the Paradox Hotel. It's where the rich stay before or after time travel. She's also Unstuck, meaning time flows differently for her. That makes her the best and worst person to uncover an impossible crime on the premises.

Have wanted to read this for a while, and absolutely inhaled it today! Ex-time travel police now head of security at the Paradox Hotel-a luxury hotel for rich and privileged time travelers. Add 4 of the richest men vying to bid for the property, ghosts, murder, time slippages, and the heroine who willfully blocks any iota of intimacy, until she breaks. #queerlitsy

A complex, whirlwind sci-fi with a masterfully-written mystery built in. There is a lot going on & things just get more convoluted as the story moves on, but it was awesome. This isn't a book you can laze your way through. There is a lot of cerebral action at play. Excellent, diverse characters & fantastic attitude. The sass & sarcasm were top notch & had me laughing a lot. One of the most unique books I have ever read & just a really great time.

Happy to see this deal on Kindle this morning! I'm a sci-fi addict and this has been on my TBR all year, so to grab it at this price was a steal!

This book was time travel meets Jurassic Park, set in a hotel catering to the rich with time travel as a perk.

If you want something that is going to twist the hell out of your mind, check this sci-fi thriller out. Lots of fun time travel mechanics and a surprisingly dark and honest emotional core.

From the first time I've heard about this book, I wanted to read it. Thanks to the #BookSpin challenge by @TheAromaofBooks I finally got the chance to do so! And my guts didn't lie: I dove into the book and didn't reappear until I was finished. Great ideas, a catching plot, interesting characters and a well-balanced combination of action, emotion and humor. Now I want to read more by Rob Hart and hope his other books are just as good!

I loved this story! I don‘t tend to read SciFi but I think that might be a mistake because I loved the time travel and “ghost” elements of the story most. I even ended up loving January even when she was being such a bitch to just about everyone. The characters were diverse and complicated, there were plenty of mysteries to try and solve, and I can honestly say I‘ve never read a story like this before. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

January is in charge of security at the Paradox, a hotel serving the nearby time travel portal. Things start going a little haywire, complicated by January being Unstuck—she has time slips after time traveling too much. This is a fun, fast-paced sci-fi/thriller. I really enjoyed it.

Sorry for posting so late, @TheAromaOfBooks - I just didn't get around to do it earlier... But that doesn't mean I'm out of the challenge. Quite the opposite - I've started reading both books and enjoy them a lot. Especially The Paradox Hotel, which is my #bookspin for March. The Empress Of Salt And Fortune is my #doublespin and also a very good read.

I started reading this one while waiting for my son to finish volunteering and so far I‘m really enjoying it! Also I thought this bookmark was perfect (the story deals with time travel and I‘ve heard it gets a little convoluted) 🤣!

Set in the year 2072, this science fiction thriller takes place at the titular hotel- accommodations for a government-run time travel facility. January Cole is the head of security & things should be running smoothly in preparation for the upcoming summit with the uber-wealthy coming to bid to privatize time travel. But Jan is Unstuck from time- allowing her to see glimpses of a possible future- but also falling into her past- causing chaos.

There‘s some good stuff here….great ideas and concepts. A more skilled writer was needed though, as this ends up being confusing and clumsy in execution. Maybe it just needed a better editor. #netgalley

So much potential wasted! Wanted to love this book, but just too hard. First, January is just so freaking unlikeable for 3/4 of the book; I wanted to feel for her, and I did, but redemption way too long. Second, there was way too much going on and it was a mess; everything that could possibly happen, seemed to happen. Lastly, the ending felt very unsatisfactory. Premise is fantastic and the writing is good! I just wished it had more finesse.

Loved the author‘s earlier, The Warehouse. This one has a time travel element and the book took a bit to get into. Entertaining, but not too deep. #ARC

This is a pick because I'm choosing not to nitpick elements of it. Good action and a good take on time travel. A minor character is non-binary (they/them) very well written - other authors should take note. Snappy dialogue. A little too rigid on the good vs. evil aspect. All UHNW persons were evil, entitled and un-woke while all paycheck earners were good-intentioned, earnest, in reach of nirvana.

Thank you to Ballantine Books and NetGalley for sending me a copy of The Paradox Hotel. I read Hart's first book,The Warehouse, and enjoyed it. The Paradox Hotel was a bit of a struggle to get through and to be honest, I almost gave up. However, I wanted to give a review based on the whole book. I found this book difficult to follow. The time slippage element was confusing and there were too many undeveloped characters.
