I‘m so happy DH continued the All Souls series! Matthew and Diana are back and this book revolves around Diana‘s higher power, her father‘s family (the Proctor‘s) and where the twins stand with their powers. I loved all the new Proctor characters, the ghosts, the Salem stories etc! This book made a blah week so much better! *I had to use my Bodleian Library bookmark for this one 😀
I was excited for this book, but it took me a bit to get back into the world & understand what was going on. A sequel to Discovery of Witches‘ series, this is about the Proctor side of Diana‘s family. She ends up spending her summer break with her great-aunt & learning higher magic. Pip & Becca, the kids, are great, and I‘m happy that Matthew had a bigger part after the first 50-ish pages. There‘s obviously going to be a sequel—yay!
Too much tea, too little You-know-who.
This fifth story in the series revolved around Diana and her abilities. I wasn't a fan of BOL (plot holes, too much built-up for too little climax), but book 5 was even worse (personality transplants, another case of exaggerated built-up with meh! resolution [if any at all], too little plot that was riddled with holes). I liked book 4 though.
Still waiting for You-know-who's book.

Went to see the author talk about this earlier this week. Book 6 already written and being edited. Likely 10 in whole series.
This is not my favourite. Too domestic and tedious an and too detailed about stuff I wasn‘t interested in. I can‘t wait for the battles to heat up again! Plenty of reveals though and breadcrumbs for future books.
1- dry red wine or cold brew Jameson through I rarely drink.
2- tagged- so so good

Holy balls you guys. This one was top notch. Perhaps the best of the series, though I do love book 2. Stayed up late the last several nights and for a moment to lose sleep you know it‘s worth it!
I finally finished my first book of August. Yay me! But I checked my GR goal & it‘s abysmal☹️I loved this book, the 5th in her All Souls chronicles. It was far from perfect, but I loved that there was a lot more magic & witchy vibes than the previous books. I also liked that the twins are older with more storyline as well. Loved the Procters & Ravenswood, but I‘m still waiting on Gallowglass or Phillippe & Ysabeau‘s stories! #SeriesLove2024 👇

I finished this two days ago, but really needed to think about how to review it. Definitely a pick; this series is a favorite. But this takes some interesting turns that just sit a bit uncomfortably for me. It‘s wonderful to read about the twins as they grow, and I love the Proctor family, with their quirky witches and ghosts. But Diana‘s embrace of “dark” magic is changing the dynamic of her relationship with Matthew, and there‘s a lot 👇
My personal copy wont arrive at my house until after release day but the library had it ready for me to cover today. Do you know how much will power it took for me not to just forget about work & instead hide in the basement all day reading this?
