This is a nice vacation read. Grace Monroe seems to lead a good life in 1950s' London aristocracy. She receives an unexpected inheritance from a mysterious lady in Paris, whose identity Grace will be struggling to discover. The storylines of the two ladies unfold beautifully but are too convenient and predictable.

23 #35 I liked this one. It wasn‘t a page turner but it kept my attention.

This is the story of two women, told in alternating chapters -Grace Monroe, a London socialite in 1955 who‘s life has always been led by her family or her new husband, who receives a surprise inheritance from Eva D‘Orsey, a resourceful perfumer‘s muse from the 1920s. As Grace tries to solve the mystery of how she and Eva are connected, she begins to learn who she is and what she wants for her future. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚

Great story, well 2 stories in one. A young woman inherits an unexpected fortune, from a woman who learned how to survive those who would use and abuse her. Loved the ending. @FeatherV I think you will enjoy this.

Such a beautifully written book!! I found myself immersed into the world that it created and didn‘t want to come back to the real world! A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for sure!!

Utterly charming.

Even though a couple of plot points were predictable, this book is so beautifully written that it didn‘t matter. I thoroughly enjoyed the premise, the setting, and the characters, even though most of them were seriously flawed. 4/5⭐️ And I will never consider perfume the same way again.

“Perfume should tell a story-the story of who you are, who you might be, perhaps even who you fear becoming...”. This book is fascinating! I have lots of things to do today that are not likely to get done because if it😂

Narrowed my next read down to four. Which one should I read next?

I had this book on my shelf for a few years. I think it took me so long to get to it, because it was just lost in a sea of other WWII stories based in France. As I expected, it was fairly predictable, but had some enjoyable twists in the end.

Dazzled by this book--- from beginning to end.

I really enjoyed this book! The ending could have been better, but overall it kept me interested and was a good read.

This is a reminder of just how powerful the olfactory sense is. Plus, what better book is there for a perfume slut? I say none other than this, which I've already read how many times? You have to read this if you collect perfume, like I do.

I would have never read this book if my book club hadn't selected it. Why? Because the blurb is so boring my eyes rolled back into my head while reading it, but the book was so great! Really enjoyed the ups and downs of these two strong females and the assorted other personalities in their lives.
