I love this book! Highly recommend 🤍
This was left in our LFL and I wanted to read it because our pibble‘s name is Winnie. Turns out it‘s the true backstory of Winnie the Pooh, for whom said pibble is named. The author is the great granddaughter of the veterinarian who bought a bear cub from a trapper at a train station (as one does) while on his way to serve in WWI. A touching story, and there are photos of the real Winnie in the back. ❤️❤️❤️
Corduroy is a classic novel. This adorable heartwarming story that all children should be exposed to in their life time. The illustrations are incredible and beautifully colored. The illustrations are in more of a sketch like drawings and the colors used in the illustrations are calm and inviting. The images on the pages don't take up the whole page but are detailed enough that you don't even need to read the words.
The pictures in this book add so much to the story. there are minimal words in the story only explaining what a perfect day is to each animal. Then the send half of the book is only it WAS a perfect day... The pictures tell the story of why it WAS a perfect day for each animal. The pictures show how bear comes along and takes the corn, the birdseed, rolls in the wildflowers, and bathes in the cool bath. It shows how bear ruined everyones day.
This book written by Lane Smith talks about different animals perfect day. Dog loves the cool water, cat loves the wildflowers, chickadee loves bird seed, squirrel loves the corn on the ground. It was a perfect day for them. It WAS a perfect day for them until bear comes along.
“Have you seen my hat?” “No. Why are you asking me. I haven‘t seen it. I haven‘t seen any hats anywhere…”
