I read the previous one for #cbbc and wanted to continue the series. I‘m enjoying this cozy in an upstate NY town where Christmas Shops are year round. I enjoyed the mystery- it actually was not who I thought it would be and still made sense! The side characters are very lovable and the main character is fun!

Back on my daily commute - what else than cozy murder mystery? I enjoyed this one, especially Beryl‘s entrance into the story. And in contrast to the Agatha Christie murder mysteries I was able to catch some hints and guess the murderer correctly. 💪💪💪

nelsonmatt890 I like to connect with you and read, lol. 16h

A very light pick. I just find it a bit... half-baked, I guess? Comparing it with the other book I was reading partly at the same time (The Tomb of Dragons), the world-building is pretty lacking. I'm sure it's great if you just want a cosy fantasy romance, but even in cosy reads, I often need a bit more; I wasn't really feeling this one. Might or might not read more of the series.

This was my last book in my game of avoiding a #BookSpinBingo!

shanaqui It was also the #BookSpin book (and Sir Hereward and Mister Fitz was the #DoubleSpin), so I've done well this month even if I don't hit my original goal of a blackout, because dang, it's been an awful month, what with my wife getting an eye injury (mild, already healed) and then breaking an ankle. 3d

A retired detective and his daughter run a successful food recreation restaurant and the new customers bring forward stories of loss, love, misunderstandings and valuing the gifts you have along with painfully good descriptions of food.
5/5 stars, read for a collection of short stories that will remind you of the power of food to shape one‘s life. I also really enjoy the traditional food ware described, it‘s fun to look each piece up for images.

A sweet, huggable, cozy, found family fantasy. I liked the characters, and I liked their growth and their growing vulnerability and connection to each other. Overall, the book felt a bit light and forgettable—but there‘s nothing wrong with a light, enjoyable cozy fantasy. That cover, too! 😍
