For June I decided to read some LGBTQ books for pride 🌈 I went into StoryGraph and filtered my TBR list to include LGBTQ tags and these were the first 20 that popped up. I let my d20 decide which 4 to start with.
Raina is tricked into acting as Sonny‘s fiancé in return for receiving her grandfather‘s journal back and the truth about his mysterious 2nd murder. Unfortunately, Sonny‘s brother is murdered at the dinner party and Sonny changes the terms of the agreement to include Raina finding the murderer. This s cozy mystery plays with a Chinese triad.

Pru Parke, a Texas ex-pat, dreams of living in England as a head gardener. With her dreams about to crumble, she takes a job in Chelsea hoping for the best. Digging in the soil of a potting shed, Pru uncovers an ancient mosaic. A few days later, she discovers a corpse. Can she solve the murder & save her English dreams?
This was interesting and fun enough for me to check out book 2.
This whimsical, warm-hearted, wonder-filled fantasy is full of found family, grumpy x grumpy romance, old spell books, the magic of home—and one conniving fox! Sangu Mandanna is a sorceress of cozy, steamy romantasy with heart and I will happily follow her to the warm hearth and unexpected lemon tea showers of Batty Hole Inn—and beyond!
My sister loaned this one to me quite a long time ago, but because historical mysteries aren't usually my jam, it's been lingering on the TBR pile. I finally picked it up, and honestly it was super adorable. I really liked the characters and even though not everything quite worked, it worked enough 😂 and I'll definitely be reading book two.
Not around much this week bc we‘re on our annual 10 day Canada vacation :)
It took me a while to get into this book, which starts off with nothing new, really. But the characters grew on me, and the plot does take an interesting turn or two. The descriptions of the MCs home, Innisfree, are lush and lovely and cozy, and the romance — from enemies to star-crossed lovers — is very sweet. Not a lot of surprises, but a warm and largely peaceful read, with cheering elements of family, friendship, and love.
Thank you @Gissy for the #CBBC package! It came over the weekend. I can‘t believe I have the last two books before getting mine back. It always seems to go so fast! #coffeebeanbookclub
4.3⭐️ I love this… I thought it was super cute and fun and definitely had the cozy fantasy feel. This was our May book choice, along with two graphic novels, for my #HometownBookClub. I will say I got a little bit more spicier than I expected, but I read a lot spicier so it didn‘t bother me. However, we usually try to stay away from spice in our Book Club picks as not everybody enjoys them, so that was offputting. Otherwise, 100% recommend.
