A House That Once Was | Julie Fogliano

#NewYearNewYou Day 19: This book is a quiet reminder of #lost portraits, the pregnant hush upon seeing objects that were loved once but now discarded, the wonder of discovering fragments and pieces of a life that once was, but isn‘t any longer. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-iUu

Rekindling one of my childhood passions (in-between books, of course 😉).

ravenlee That‘s awesome! I took a tap class a few years ago and just loved it. 3d
monalyisha @ravenlee It was always my favorite! I took 10 years of dance when I was growing up. It‘s kind-of incredible, how much I‘ve forgotten. And it‘s way more of a mental workout than I remember (counting, remembering sets & patterns, etc). But I think it‘s good for me — & I‘m psyched to be making noise again! ✨ 3d

Delightful Xmas present. Love Olivia. Each page a piece of wisdom. More for adults than kids I‘d say. @MrsMalaprop #2020joybooks

I read this book to my daycare kiddos over the holiday season, and it was honestly one of my favorite books I‘ve ever read to them!

📚📚 Aesthetically, this is probably the wildest and most creative book Logan and I have encountered. It is an incredibly artistic and beautiful display of art, design and craft.

4/5 ⭐️

A Tree for Peter | Kate Seredy

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Book 6 of my #VintageBookishChristmas is A Tree for Peter, by Kate Seredy. My copy itself isn‘t vintage, but rather a reprint published by the wonderful Purple House Press. I‘ve learned of so many interesting older books since discovering the Reshelving Alexandria website, but I somehow stumbled across this one on my own a few months ago and tucked it away for December.

[Continued in comments ⬇️]

BucklingBookshelves I had no idea this book used to be hard-to-find because the reprint is now readily available — which is fantastic because now more people will be able to experience this book!

This one is a short illustrated novel and what a lovely story. It‘s my first by Newbery author Kate Seredy, but definitely won‘t be my last. In fact, I have four more waiting for me on my shelves! I‘d love to read them all for #theunreadshelfproject2020 📚📚📚

Has anyone seen the new series? I used to watch the John Pertwee series back when I was a kid and loved it to bits. The new version is just lovely! . Mackenzie Crook is an absolute delight and the kids are wonderful. Also: the music is by the Unthanks! Yay!
