Dinosaurs are sort of reptiles, right? 🦖🦕🦖

24/100 I don't believe that I have ever listened to a less interesting book involving dinosaurs and paleontology, two subjects that I'm very interested in. IMO the book spends too much time discussing religious leaders, and how they tried to align fossils with the teachings of the bible. Even when discussing Darwin and evolution, it was more about the affect on the religious community than on the validity of the theories. 3 ⭐⭐⭐ #Read2025

inkilea Good to know, thank you! (This was on my as-yet-unpurchased tbr) 2mo

A favorite of my daughter's. She still laughs hysterically when we read it.

Pickpick

You want dinosaurs? You want mathematicians predicting your business will fail? You want a greedy millionaire with a miniature elephant? This book has all that and a bratty kid that will make you roll your eyes so hard, you swear you landed in the park itself. The kills in the book are top notch and I even giggled at one. Can you guess which? Highly recommend this ridiculous book where money can‘t buy you disciplined dinosaurs. Tragic. I know.

3 ⭐ This is a typical picture book. It is Illinois reads 2025. The illustrations are standard fair but the story rhymes nicely and moves quickly. While, this is a fun book. I do not think it will be a 20 years on the shelf book.

3✨ Very much a young reader series. This first book just introduces the magical idea of the tree house. Reading to baby E for bedtime. He‘s normally just waiting for the pictures, but gives me different reading material while he doesn‘t care what I read right now.

Biography of Mary Anning who discovered the first dinosaur skeleton and then numerous other fossils.

Interesting, but the author is not a historian and didn't have the necessary understanding of the historical context. Also, she makes a lot of unsubstantiated assumptions about what Mary and others were thinking and feeling.
