Daisy Jones & The Six | Taylor Jenkins Reid

I liked the idea and audio format of this book, but I think this story was just not for me. I did love Karen, she was my favorite, and I‘ll watch the TV adaptation, too.

@BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft

Cinfhen I think all the hype ruined this book for me! It was more #MehThanYeah but I‘d be curious about the TV adaptation too 3w
sheffner @Cinfhen Hyped books are either a hit or a miss for me, there is no in between. 😅 3w
BarbaraTheBibliophage I enjoyed this one, but agree. The hype overtook it! 3w
sheffner @BarbaraTheBibliophage At least I got to listen to it before the TV adaptation. The holds list at my library is going to be so long! 😳 3w

Finally got around to reading this and it's as good as everyone says. Taylor Jenkins Reid is great at these types of stories. I did the audiobook, which I recommend, but could also see the appeal of doing this in print.

This is my #featuresamusician pick for #booked2019 @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft

BarbaraTheBibliophage Great choice! 3mo

I‘m still all over the place, 16 finished... 8 to go though.

This quarter I read:

19. Hey, Kiddo - #BookAboutAddiction
2. Spinning Silver - #FairyTaleRetelling
10. How To Build A Girl - #FeaturesAMusician
16. The Walking Dead Vol.32 - #Comic
17. Down Girl - Book Gifted to Me
22. Storm Cursed - #POCMCParanormal
9. Every Day is a Good Day - #IndigenousAuthor

4thhouseontheleft I still have to complete the Irish winter prompt! Great job on the others, I also read Hey, Kiddo for the addiction prompt. 4mo
IamIamIam Great job! You're getting there!! 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @4thhouseontheleft Hey, Kiddo was a great book too. For the Irish Writer prompt I thought I‘d read Celtic Twilight by WB Yeats it‘s on serial reader and it‘s fairies, Ghosts, spirits...so I thought it would be good one to read in October. Genrebusting is the one I‘m not sure what I‘m going to read for that one yet. 4mo

Cinfhen Great job!! Every prompt you complete is a total win 🤗🤗 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @JazzFeathers I‘ve just been fitting them in as I go, as we near the end of the year I‘ll have to be more selective. 😉 4mo

Bel Canto | Ann Patchett

#booked2019 #featuresAmusician Why did it take so long for me to get to this one? I don‘t like Opera?A visiting businessman is to be treated to an incredible birthday party in South America,an amazing soprano is to sing at the event.Gun-wielding terrorists burst in an hold international dignitaries hostage. As time goes on the character study of relationships takes center stage as the situation goes on.unexpected alliances form.

Lcsmcat I‘m glad you liked it. It‘s one of my favorites! 5mo
erinreads LOVE this! Bel Canto was my first Ann Patchett and it made me an instant fan! 💕 5mo

On the Come Up | Angie Thomas

How does Angie Thomas write such compelling characters and stories? This isn't quite as good as THUG because the issues don't feel as immediate and heavy, but it's still a stellar book.

#booked2019 #featuresamusician @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft #pop19 #bookwrittenbyamusician

Cinfhen Really liked THUG but this one feels very YA for my reading taste. Great review ❤️ 5mo
4thhouseontheleft Angie Thomas is a fantastic writer! I love both of her books. Great review! 5mo

The Dakota Winters | Tom Barbash

#Readathon I loved this book! This has got to be the best book I‘ve read this year. It starts out about a father/son relationship, turns into a love letter to the Dakota & NYC before, surprisingly, becoming a love letter to John Lennon, before closing out as being about a father/son relationship. It‘s funny, poignant, beautifully written & meaningful,Highly recommend #Deweys24hrReadathon #HSreadathon #Booked2019 #FeaturesAMusician

Cinfhen I see I‘ve already stacked this book but now I need to find it!! Sounds awesome 💜🎶 6mo

The Cellist of Sarajevo | Steven Galloway
post image

Movingly depicts daily life during the siege of Sarajevo through the perspective of different citizens of the city. Through each we see the small steps taken to preserve humanity and normalcy. I was brought to tears by the cellist‘s dedication and by the choices made by several characters. #featuresamusician #booked2019

Buechersuechtling Not book related but I find your table beautiful. 💗 Wonderful pattern. (edited) 6mo

This one seems to get mixed reviews, but I ended up kind of loving it. I listened to the audio production and thought the multiple narrators brought the interview format to life. I even teared up at the end. #Booked2019 #FeaturesAMusician #LLB19 #aBOTMpick

Read in April.

Bookzombie @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft @Cinfhen Hi! This is a late post from last quarter. I just wanted to let you know so you don‘t count in a giveaway. I have a few more of these to post. 😬 6mo
Cinfhen Thanks for the heads up!! I wish I would have listened to this audio!! I think I would have liked it more than I did in print ( which was only so-so for me) 6mo
Dragon I agree the actors really added to the audiobook 👍😀🐉 6mo

Even better than the first Allon novel. I was totally drawn into the intrigue of the secretive world of the Swiss bankers and their dark secrets and the talented Anna Rolfe. Can‘t wait to continue this series. #thriller

Blaire @TrishB I‘m hooked now! 7mo
