Quartey uses a new storytelling method with each book in the series, and so it is so far from a formulaic mystery as it can get. He also tells stories unique to #Ghana. A really nasty guy who trafficked Nigerians becomes a pimp of high class women to the rich, and is killed. His innocent girlfriend goes missing. This is a missing person story but also a murder mystery and a horrific story of human trafficking and prostitution. The author keeps ⬇️

Texreader the story this side of tolerable—he doesn‘t go into gruesome details—even though you know they‘re there. He‘s an extraordinary storyteller and writer. The level of detail, for example, the meals they eat, what the weather (& the traffic) feels like, reading his books is an immersive experience. His 4th book in this series is out in August. And I‘ll have to start his Detective Darko series soon. Highly recommended. #foodandlit #serieslove2024 3mo

I love that this author, in all his books, describes the food in #Ghana. #foodandlit #serieslove2024 @Catsandbooks @TheSpineView @Andrew65

What a fun mystery novel! The fast-paced narrative kept me entertained on my hotter-than-heck 6 mile run yesterday. I've always adored Fiona Grace novels. They never disappoint! Especially when I found this one free on Play Books.

Book 2 in the High Society Lady Detective Series (#SeriesLove2023) and my second finish for #JoysofJune

This is a fun cozy series. Olive is off to Blackburn Hall to try and find a missing author. A mystery ensues and Olive and her Watson, Jasper work to solve the mystery of two deaths. Were they connected or just a coincidence? Olive is tenacious and quite determined to get her man.

The narrator, Elizabeth Klerk, does a wonderful job.

TheSpineView Excellent! 10mo

Upper class Dandy(Dandelion)Gilver, when asked by a friend to do some sleuthing for stolen diamonds, sees it as fun distraction. What first appears to be a lark becomes serious when murder occurs.Lots of tangled webs, dead end trails, convoluted threads-I felt confused while reading,as if I was in a maze, just like Dandy‘s meandering thoughts & spaghetti like strands in her mind, that never seemed to meet.
