So, almost exactly one month after I was supposed to finish for #LengthyLit I have finished It. All 1153 pages. I don't know if I would categorize it as horror. It is absolutely a story about friendship and the power of which that keeps us together. Now, were there some horrific scenes? Absolutely. But it was not constant and in-your-face. I love all the background stories and learning just what It really was. Excellent story! #GoneWithTheClown

Caroline2 Well done!! That's a mammoth book to finish! 👏🏻 🎉 7y
RadicalReader @AndreaReads I love Stephen King novels they‘re always pleasing and appealing on so many levels when you got that horror suspense itch you can‘t scratch 7y
RadicalReader @Caroline2 could easily double as a effortless and organic paperweight 7y

#BadMom moment: I'm hiding out in the car getting caught up on my #LengthyLit while my son is out playing in the drizzling rain for his East meets West Lacrosse camp... maybe I'll go cheer him on after lunch? (The camp is about an hour and a half away from our house, so I'm pretty much stuck here today...) #ReadingTime #GoneWithTheClown

AmandaL Ha! I'm in the same boat! Camp is about an hour away depending on traffic. I can't justify driving home when the camp is only 3 hours long. 7y
AndreaReads @AmandaL What we do for our kids...🙄 Good thing we don't mind a little extra time for reading! 7y

I was too lazy to keep scrolling looking for the reading schedule. At page 80 I know I am way, way behind and I doubt I'll catch up for the #lengthylit #gonewiththeclown #buddyread. It is a fast though. I had forgotten what a great storyteller SK was.

CocoReads Next week is Chapter 21-the end. It is a great read. 7y
Sace @CocoReads Lol. Yeeaah. Definitely not going to catch up. It is a good read though. 7y
CocoReads Enjoy the read anyway! 7y

And I'm done. I love this book but I have a different perspective now than when I last read it (in my 30s). I've reread it at least once a decade since my teen years and I've always found something new each time. It was a difficult read due to racism, but I still think it's a fantastic book! #gwtwreadalong #gonewiththeclown

Reviewsbylola I was amazed at how different my reading experience was from last time. (early 20s v mid 30s). 7y
WarpedSweetness I definitely had a different perspective now at 29 then I did when I read this in middle and high school. 7y
WarpedSweetness No wait...I'm thirty. I just turned thirty on the 6th. I forgot. Sorry! 7y

Done. 😭😭😭😍🤗🤔👏🏻🙌🏻💍💋👨🏻👩🏻👧🏻💃🏻🐴🐎🌳🌹🍷🎻💵⚰️🗡🎉📜💔❤️💞⚜️ #gwtwreadalong #gonewiththeclown #ohscarlett

Reviewsbylola My book and my heart both took a beating. 7y
Reviewsbylola And also I can never continue on with my life believing that Scarlett and Rhett didn't end up together. They had to have found their way back together. 😭😭 7y
CocoReads There's a sequel written by someone else. It got crappy reviews but i was impressed someone even took it on. 7y

Zelma @Reviewsbylola there is a terrible sequel that continues the story. I say terrible yet I loved it when I was a teenager. I recognize that it is not a good piece of literature but it was a fun adventure and gives closure to the story. (edited) 7y
Zelma @CocoReads 😆 you beat me to it. 7y
CocoReads @Zelma-I remember liking it as a teen too. I'd be game to reread it sometime to see how I feel about it now. 7y
Zelma @CocoReads agreed. I could see rereading it later in life. I didn't join the GwtW readalong, so I have to reread that first! 7y
Ashley_Nicoletto I can't wait for this day. 😂 7y
JazzFeathers Now that looks like a book with a history 😂 7y
L_auren Congrats 📚💯👌🏻 7y
CocoReads I still have 80 pages left in my reread and I'd take a break before reading Scarlett anyway. I'm not sure where my copy is-if I even still have it. But I'd be happy to buddy read it with someone. 7y
Reviewsbylola I've read the sequel. I didn't hate it but it just can't compare to the original. And I also don't believe things happened the way they do in the sequel. 😂 @CocoReads @Zelma 7y
Reviewsbylola I really beat my books up. 😬 @JazzFeathers 7y
CocoReads @reviewsbylola yes, I just want to reread it as an adult--I'm sure I wouldn't like it these days. My opinions on the characters have changed since I first read it at the ripe old age of 10 or so 7y
Reviewsbylola I have grown more cynical about sequels in my old age I think. I hate when a sequel feels unnecessary, which plenty of them do. There is no need to mess with the original. As much as I would love to know where the characters of GWTW went from here, I don't trust that a sequel will tell me that. @CocoReads However, had Margaret Mitchell herself written a sequel, I would certainly be more inclined to believe it. 😂 7y
CocoReads I feel that way too. 7y
LitHousewife Such a good book!!! 7y
erinreads Yay! I just realized I never posted a review for it after I finished! I should get on that. 7y
Reviewsbylola It's hard to write a review for such a prolific book, which is why I went the emoji route. 😂 @erinreads 7y
emilyhaldi Nice emoji usage 👍🏻 7y
ValerieAndBooks 👏!! Also 👏on your emojis 😊. I really enjoyed this readalong, even though I didn't say much because I was afraid to give anything away! 7y
Reviewsbylola I literally went thru and picked every emoji that could possibly relate to the book. 😂 7y
Cinfhen Yay! I'm still making my way through...I'm excited for what's ahead after seeing your emojis 😘😘 7y
britt_brooke 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And I love this photo! 7y
Cinfhen How did I miss that coffin??? Just read chapter 60 😱😭😭😭but Scarlett said some nasty shit 😬just when I was beginning to care about her.... 7y

Someday Jar | Allison Morgan
post image

I made my TBR jar! Before I discovered #DollarTree books, I didn't own many books. I borrowed from the library to save money and space. I plan to donate any I don't plan to read again to the #LittleFreeLibrary. I logged all the titles and the goal is to read 3 TBR for each library book until this stack is whittled down. For fun, I put slips in jar for "free pick", "pick from daughter's shelf", "blue book", etc. Now to finish #GoneWithTheClown ??

Notafraidofwords I'm sort of similar to you in that way. I don't on many books mostly because I just don't have the space. A borrow a lot from the library and I don't really have an intense emotional connection to books and when I know I'm not gonna reread them I usually give them away. (edited) 7y
Foragingfantasy I luuuuv dollar tree! 7y

kyraleseberg Dollar Tree 🙌💃 7y
Jinjer What's a TBR jar???? I need that adorable table!!!!! 7y
Wife @Jinjer I put titles of all my To Be Read books on slips of paper. I will pull out a slip to determine my next read. I found the table at a Salvation Army store a few years ago for $10! Thanks. I think it's adorable too 😊 7y
TerriGreen I love this idea so much I am going to make a TBR jar for myself! Like you I don't save physical books, I pass them on to family and friends when done. I went to a Half Price Books clearance sale recently, but instead of reading those books I keep going to the library. This will be good motivation. 7y
Wife @TerriGreen I got the idea from others Littens, so I can't take the credit. Please post when you make your jar. 🤓 7y
Lmstraubie That is such a cute idea! 7y

I couldn't stop myself so I finished my #lengthylit #gonewiththeclown journey. I thoroughly enjoyed rereading this classic #horror novel. Thanks @Tiffy_Reads for setting this up!

Wife I'm going to be done with #GoneWithTheClown someday too! Reading kind of slowly this Summer, but I'm enjoying both books! 7y

I hope all U.S. Littens had a safe and happy holiday yesterday. In hindsight, I should have worked Monday and taken today off. I'm not hungover but I am exhausted. On the upside I'm almost done with this weeks #lengthylit section of IT. #gonewiththeclown
