#Read2025 #SeriesLove2025

Just finished my #ThematicCozies November pick for #Food & I quite enjoyed this second book in the An American in Paris mystery series. Tabitha is back to learning cooking from her best friend Julia Child & solving mysteries. In this one 2 chefs are murdered by drinking poisoned rare wines. I have a fascination for the Paris catacombs & Post-WWII France & between that & the delicious food mentioned (all the butter & ⬇️

DebinHawaii … & cream favored by Julia) that made me hungry, I was Googling frequently throughout. (Mushrooms grown in the catacombs? Yes, please! https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/paris-catacomb-mushrooms ) The MC‘s continual reference to her “internal imp” gets on my nerves a little but I‘m willing to overlook it for the food descriptions & time with Julia Child. I do love a good memoir, and this is a classic for a reason. Recounting how Julia Child wrote Mastering the Art of French Cooking with co-authors and its successive volumes while in France due to her husband‘s political position. I became enamored with the vitality with which she describes not only food but everyday encounters with people and life in France. Love it.

RickW Cannot wait to read this. I totally forgot that she wrote this. The is so much to this woman that so many of us know little. She made small steps and a nod of the head here or there without saying anything yet saying a lot. Thanks for bringing this one to our attention. 6mo

kspenmoll ⬆️Two Renowned chefs die suddenly after tasting rare wines. Much to the irritation of the police,Tabitha & Julia join forces & investigate. Both women are independent, quick minded, curious and upbeat.Julia has a passion for cooking & Tabitha has a passion for anything mechanical. #AnAmericaninParisMystery #serieslove2025 #Libby (edited) 10mo

May was a light reading month for me due to work & work travel but I quite enjoyed this foodie mystery set in post WWII Paris with Julia Child the best friend of the MC so it‘s my May #12BooksOf2024 pick. I need to read the second book in the series one of these days.

Honorable mentions were The Seventh Power & A Tempest at Sea.

Andrew65 A good pick. 11mo

Merry Everything and Happy Whatever! I hope that some new books found you this season. I can‘t wait to dig into the books my family chose for me, while I break in my new tea set. And yes, that‘s a horrible amount of snow outside.

julesG Lovely presents! Happy Holidays! 11mo
