vlwelser I'd suggest making it again. But the menu is sacred territory 6d
TheBookHippie @vlwelser 😂😂😂😂 my daughter screen shots the menu to time her “stopping over” and “oh look I brought containers…” 6d
vlwelser Such a smart girl. 6d

I‘m hosting the April/May round of the blogger virtual foodie book club I belong to & the tagged book is what I selected for our #BookClubRead 🔪💙 (Mostly because I have a #OnceUponABookClub box for it! I‘m excited to start reading & open up the #OUABC gifts!) 😉🤗

This was my first cozy murder mystery. Branching out. 🎉
This was a love letter to Paris, Julia Child, and French cuisine, with murder thrown in. It was a fun, light read.

Bought myself a little present- only $15 on thrift books! Maybe this will be the year I regain my love of cooking?

Tamra I hope so! You can join us for #Mtcookbook and just cook from it. 😊 3mo
thebacklistbook I have this one! Fair warning Julie and Julia did not lie, butter is everywhere. Everything I have made out of it I have either swapped in margarine or canola. 3mo
TheBookHippie Oooooo love it! I did cook through it before it‘s so much fun!!! 3mo

My cookbooks only one shelf
I use the library for cookbooks a lot as well
Although I do have one I made very sloppy …👀 as well as a recipe box from my grandma ♥️

My French cookbooks are on my French shelf behind my tree 🤣 hard to get a pic.

👩🏻‍🍳♥️ #midwintersolace

AllDebooks That's a lot of cookbooks 4mo

Tamra Would you like to join a small buddy cookbook “read” this year? Check out #MtCookbook One new recipe a week. (edited) 4mo
TheBookHippie @Tamra Absolutely!! 4mo
TheBookHippie @Tamra I make my recipes for the year the first week of January. All 365 days. So I‘ll add a new recipe a week, which generally happens anyway. 4mo
Tamra @TheBookHippie what?! You are seriously organized - I‘m envious! It would make shopping so much easier. Cooking is one part of my life I live by the seat of my pants - reading and cooking are most often dictated by mood. 4mo
TheBookHippie @Tamra Also makes shopping much cheaper. 🙃 4mo
Tamra @TheBookHippie that is true and particularly these days. 🥹 4mo
JenniferEgnor I‘ve got a ton of cookbooks. Many of them are cultural. We like to try everything! I used to subscribe to Gourmet Magazine when it was still publishing. That was the magazine that taught me to cook! (edited) 4mo
TheBookHippie @JenniferEgnor cooking is so zen. I went through my cookbooks about 3 years ago and kept only what I cook out of, but I sure enjoy #foodandlit and taking cookbooks from other countries out of the library every month👩🏻‍🍳. 4mo
JenniferEgnor @TheBookHippie recently I‘ve been donating the ones I don‘t use either. Some are just nice to have for pure reading pleasure. Gastro Obscura has some really interesting articles and podcast episodes, really fascinating stuff about food. EATER has exciting stuff too. My shelf has a lot of German, Italian, Indian and Thai; and of course bread, baking, and pasta! 4mo
TheBookHippie @JenniferEgnor I have French, Italian and Rachael Ray 🤣 but my best friend -who is Indian -teaches me some amazing recipes, as does my friend from Taiwan. I‘ve, as a volunteer and donation, cooked for youth centers and young mom homes for decades and I have open plate policy here at the house -Rachael Ray is good for doubling tripling quadrupling 👩🏻‍🍳 4mo
TheBookHippie @JenniferEgnor I adapt most recipes after making them first according to the book. 4mo

The Way to Cook | Julia Child

Cooking Julia Child‘s beef stew on this cold night. Both cookbooks are well used in this household. The pictures in The Way to Cook make my mouth water… Mastering the Art of French Cooking is my husband‘s 50 year old copy (1973)
I love how the stew‘s aroma fills the house as it simmers for 3+ hours. Served with crusty french bread- divine! 🥘🥖#midwintersolace #naturalitsy #fridaynightsshare

Pickpick

I first read this book when the Julie/Julia project blog was happening, and I was thrilled to read it again with my current #LMPBC group. Julia Child is someone I really wish I could have met.

@BookishBelle I‘ll get this in the mail by the end of the week. Just need to finish up writing my notes.

TheBookHippie It was a nice revisit!!! That was my third time through! I would have loved to meet her as well! 5mo
ChaoticMissAdventures I didn't know anything but that she had an interesting voice and cooked on TV before I picked this up, it was such a wonderful book I fell in love with both and Paul. They were amazing people. 5mo
Traci1 I loved this one. 5mo
MatchlessMarie That must have been neat to read while the project was ongoing! 🧁 5mo
