'The novel ends with one of the most reverberating shocks in modern crime fiction.'
Well I guess the problem is with me then. The twist at the end really is neat, but I didn't enjoy the whole of the book. Instead of being intrigued and interested I was mostly annoyed and frustrated. I didn't like the detective and I wasn't much impressed with the writing (maybe the translation wasn't the best either). ⬇️
The Monet exhibit was wonderful!
So, there I was, enjoying this charming and intriguing murder mystery set in Monet's hometown of Giverny and being invested in all the interesting characters, when ...BOOM! Along comes a twist so subtle yet so seismic that it blows my socks off. I genuinely did not see it coming & I thoroughly enjoyed it! What a cracking read this one was! And the ending even touched my cold, cynical heart 💙
Starting this one today. I've been on a bit of a crime spree recently.
😳
That did not come out like I meant it to!!!
A graphic novel exploring the life of Monet. While his paintings are beautiful explorations of light, His personal choices are often selfish and frustrating. He spent most of his life in debt while never curbing his spending. I loved learning more about the other artists in the impressionist movement though. I also loved the way the artists incorporated guys art into their telling of his story.
Forgot to post my #AdventRecommends yesterday so you‘ll get another two today!
The lyrical quality of the writing in this crime novel sets it apart from others in the genre. I found it beautiful and captivating.
