#MarchIntoOz #NoLies 🙊I'd be lying if I said there were no lies (or books with lie, lies or lying in the title) on my bookshelves. Here are nine of them--I've read all but two (the tagged book & The Lying Game by Ruth Ware). And no lies--four of the nine are by one of my favorite mystery-thriller authors, J.T. Ellison.

DebBates101 I luv JT Ellison! You have a good stack there ☺️📖 7y

#marchintooz #nolies. I‘ve seen the movie now I have to read the book. In the movie at first you think you know the truth but then you‘re not sure? It‘s kinda scary and weird- I hope the book is as good or better. Fingers crossed 🤞

sisilia I‘m going to start this soon 7y
Dragon Thanks @sisilia I‘ve just started it tonight but I‘m thinking it might be scary so maybe I should put it down and start again tomorrow morning. 👍🐉 7y
batsy Looking forward to seeing what you think. I can't wait to watch it on Netflix (sadly). From what I've heard the movie differs from the book in some ways, but that it is its own kind of special. 7y

Dragon Thanks @batsy I‘m about a third of the way through the book and it is almost completely different. So far I wouldn‘t have guessed that movie was based on this book. I hope you have a big screen tv because the movie has some very interesting visuals. 😀🐉 7y
Cinfhen Cool, can‘t decide if I should read book first or watch movie #booknerdproblems 7y
Soubhiville I really didn‘t like the book, but the movie looks pretty cool. I‘ll probably wait to watch it at home too @batsy 7y
batsy @Soubhiville I'd love to watch it on the big screen because as @Dragon says I think the visual effects will be stunning. But in this part of the world it's not coming to the theaters, going straight to Netflix :( 7y
Soubhiville @bats ah, I see. I just don‘t go to the theater that often. I don‘t mind paying for tickets, but the $4 bottle of water and refreshments prices make me angry. 7y
Dragon Thanks @Cinfhen usually I try and read the book first but in this case I didn‘t. The movie is so different that I‘m finding it an extra layer to try and figure out why the filmmakers made the changes 🌿 7y
Dragon Thanks @batsy @Soubhiville I‘m at the halfway point and the book and the movie are still completely divergent. It‘s interesting to try and figure out the screenwriter‘s intentions. Very interested in your opinions of the movie. 🌿 7y
batsy @Soubhiville I hear you, it's the same here and the cost is ridiculous. 7y
Cinfhen I‘ll be curious to hear your thoughts after u finish the book as to which you preferred... 7y
Dragon Thanks @Cinfhen I‘ll let you know 👍😀🐉 7y
Rachellynnwright The director said that instead of trying to adapt the book he adapted a dream version he had of the book 7y
Dragon Thanks @Rachellynnwright that explains a lot actually. 👍🤔🐉 7y

No use telling this man anything but the truth cos #nolies get past Hercule Poirot. But in this book, oh how they do try!

Sorry @Kalalalatja I had a very similar idea to you!

#marchintooz #nolies

Dragon Great choice! Love ❤️ Hercule Poirot 7y
Cinfhen I just watched another Poirot movie 7y
Centique @Cinfhen did you watch the most recent one? The scenery was beautiful 😍 7y
Kalalalatja Great minds think alike 😉 7y
Cinfhen Yes, really beautiful @Centique I watched the film on the plane ride...it was a little slow but I was a pretty captive audience 😉 7y

Middlemarch (Revised) | George Eliot

#nolies I impulsively bought Middlemarch yesterday to plan yet another buddy read (in the second part of the year I‘m thinking.) I obviously have a problem but I‘ve always wanted to read this. Buddy reads/readalongs are the best way to encourage myself to tackle the books I‘ve always been meaning to read that I‘ve put off. Usually those extra large chunksters. #marchintooz

Tove_Reads Let me know when it happens! On my TBR-but-will-not-happen-on-my-own. 7y
rubyslippersreads I've always wanted to read this too, so please keep me posted about the buddy read. 😊 7y

rubyslippersreads @AmyG @Centique As an adult, it's still one of my comfort books. 😊 7y
AmyG I should read this again for #Booked2018 7y
ValerieAndBooks I loved this as a kid — recently read it again as an adult, and my perspective really changed! Still think it‘s a good book! 7y
ValerieAndBooks Another thought.. I think I remember you said that even though you loved it as a kid, your mom didn‘t?? 7y
rubyslippersreads @ValerieAndBooks That's right. 😊 And as an adult, I can see why. It's just a comfort book for me because I loved it so much as a kid. 7y
ValerieAndBooks I know what you mean. Sport and Ole Golly and all that, like old friends. 7y
BookNAround I loved this one and even created my own notebook for a while after I read it. 7y
tpixie I loved it too as a child. It does read differently as an adult. So I wonder does that mean our intentions are different as children? As a child, I found her spying so cool. As an adult, more hurtful. Hmm... @ValerieAndBooks @rubyslippersreads (edited) 7y
