"And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain

Thrilled me—filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;

So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating

“‘Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door—"

I'm not sure what I'll be snacking on this weekend but look at that stack 😍

Going to work on trying to finish up some books I've already started. I've also got The Chosen and The Electric Heir on ebook and House of Salt and Sorrows on audio in process so I have lots of options!

FantasyChick @andrew65 I'm looking forward to it!!! @CoffeeCatsBooks I'll let you know how it goes. I'm only a few chapters in right now and it's a bit slow but I've heard good things so I've got high hopes that it will pick up soon 1w
FantasyChick @MrBook That Poe is my favourite print!! He makes it into a lot of pictures. I 🖤 it!! 1w

Poe: A Life Cut Short | Peter Ackroyd

Pickpick

This seemed like the right time of year to read this one. Poe lived a tormented life filled with poverty and alcohol. His genius wasn't recognized while he was alive. It's amazing how many details of his life still exist, except for the truth about his death. This is between a pick and a so-so for me. It was well written but had more detail than I was interested in.

Three chapters in and nope! So boring, and badly written

November TBR! I‘m perhaps a little too ambitious, but I‘m okay if I don‘t finish them all

It was just okay. I am not sure I would consider this a GN. I think of it more as a fully illustrated collection since little to no speech or thought bubbles were used. Some of the stories like the Mask of the Red Death were so paired down, it took it‘s soul away, while others, we just too long winded (I‘m looking at you Tell Tale Heart).

This reading by Mike Rowe of “The Tale-Tell Heart” was rockawesome. Look for the latest “Occasionally” for Oct. 30 on his podcast “The Way I Heard It” and tune in. #audio #horror #poe #edgarallanpoe

Aimeesue Hmmmm! I just listened to Neil Gaiman read The Raven, which was excellent. Maybe I'll do this one! 2w
jillrhudy @Aimeesue you should! It was wonderful! 2w

Mr Gaiman posted this over in FB land. It‘s from a couple of years ago but it‘s still a fun listen to him read The Raven.
