Somehow, it's already time for October's #ISpyBingo board!!! Anyone is welcome to join!! Find these items anywhere on a book's front/back cover or spine!! One book can check multiple prompts.

All of the 2025 boards can be found here - https://www.canva.com/design/DAGVO4NctsY/-lGsmflP3sUW9FsAung8hg/view?utm_content...

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) All the 2025 prompts are also in a Storygraph challenge here - https://app.thestorygraph.com/reading_challenges/85a6eb78-a914-4e84-a200-9073f75...

I am hoping to carry this challenge into 2026!!! If you have some prompts you'd like to send to me, please feel free to comment here or to email me - itsthegoodlife15 at gmail. Obviously I am going to be repeating most of the prompts from this year just in a different order, but if you have⬇
1w
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) a prompt that has driven you absolutely crazy/feels impossible, please let me know. For instance, HANDCUFFS are NOT getting mixed in again 😂

Thank you to everyone who plays these boards with me - I don't know why, but I just absolutely love treasure hunting my covers!!

LiseWorks It's an addiction for me lol 1w
PuddleJumper Flip flops! I don't read many summery books 🤣 1w
Faranae I barely read contemporary, so things like flip flops have been absolute nightmares 😂 Also, I mostly read e-books these days for access reasons (no money for books and no English library near me, so it's all digital library stuff) so it's hard to do anything with “spine“ prompts unless I happen to spot a suitable book I want to read in someone's book shelf or haul photos. ☠ 1w
willaful The ones that apply only to physical books are a bit annoying for me, but that's okay.

I know there was one I found so impossible recently, now what was it... oh right, power line!
1w
willaful Lol, I didn't see your comment when I made mine, @Faranae. 1w
TheAromaofBooks @PuddleJumper @Faranae @willaful - Thank you for the thoughts!! It helps me know how to keep it fun for everyone!! 😁 1w
TheAromaofBooks @LiseWorks - RIGHT?! Why?? 😂 1w
LiseWorks I think it's because some are hard to get, and when I have a book with no prompts, I'm so surprised 😅 like the book Well Met, absolutely no bingo spots. So, I guess my book choices are bingoless 😆 1w

I was reminded of this book recently and couldn‘t remember if I‘d ever actually read it? Graeme Base feels very familiar to me as a 90s Aussie kid but I‘ve never been particularly patient (even though Where‘s Wally had me in a chokehold) so carefully searching for visual clues wouldn‘t have appealed - so it‘s very possible that I didn‘t… anyway, it‘s pretty cool (I read the answer page and made no attempt at decoding. I know who I am)

Second in the series. This time Mike Brink gets called to Japan to solve the Dragon Box. Like these books. Adventure, puzzles, good characters. Nothing too deep, just a fun read. 🧩🧩🧩🧩

I'm going outside the box for one of my reading challenge prompts this year. I'm working through a book of logic puzzles. I'm still reading, but I'm also checking for comprehension. I couldn't bring myself to write in the book in case I pass it along when I'm done, so I'm using one of my MANY little notebooks to good use. Who's doing something similar?

Which tag is everyone using? 😁

AnneCecilie I bought the first volume in this series and couldn‘t get past the first puzzle. Am I supposed to look at them as a sudoko puzzle? 8mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Librarybelle Thanks! Perhaps I'll join you on that hashtag. Now, if only I could get my butt in gear to actually review the few I've read.... 8mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @InkedBookworm13 I had every intention of picking up Volume 1, but it was out of stock at the local bookstores I was visiting, so I figured Volume 2 would be a fine place to start. Good luck with your puzzles, too! 8mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @mhillis It had been so far! A little break from just straight reading. 8mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @AnneCecilie In a way, yes. You'll need to use the descriptions and clues to determine which person had which object and where they had it. For the beginner puzzles, each 9 square box should have one checkmark indicating yes in each row & column. Some clues will eliminate a pairing, so you can use an X. Then, you use your deduction skills. I learned these as a kid, so I didn't need to look at the instructions, but they seem OK. 8mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @AnneCecilie If Ms X has the necklace, I'd ✅️ her box, then ❎️ out the other two suspects for the necklace. Other clues may eliminate an option, so you have to infer based on the other info provided. If you still have trouble, perhaps I can scan one of mine & email or arrange a Teams meeting to discuss it with you. The larger ones may prove more troublesome, but the beginner ones should be easier to catch into one you pick up how to do them. 8mo

The Puzzle Box is a fast-paced thriller with interesting characters and a twisty, fun plot. As I enjoyed the first book in this series, I knew I would be pulled into this story. I love how Trussoni mixes legends, cultures, and modern technology to create believable adventures that are true page-turners. Mike Brink is such a unique character, and his ability to solve everything thrown at him will keep readers invested in his unique solutions.

After an accident when he was a young man, Mike Brink develops a savant syndrome that allows him to see interlocking patterns, making it possible for him to solve impossible puzzles. Every twelve years, since the Meiji Restoration, puzzle masters have attempted to open the Dragon Box, providing access to the treasure within.; all have died in the attempt. Now it‘s Mike‘s turn. Reminiscent of works of Dan Brown, although not as tautly written. Fun!

I feel like I should have done better, as a retired school librarian. And having been a librarian I‘m not really surprised at any of the books on the list. People will complain about the weirdest things. #IReadBannedBooks #TLT #ThreeListThursday
