Drowning | T.J. Newman

T.J. Newman‘s storytelling prowess is truly remarkable. From the very first moments, Drowning gripped me, leaving me on the edge of my seat. Her ability to blend raw human emotion with thrilling suspense is nothing short of magical. She not only crafts heart-pounding scenes but also develops human characters with such depth and emotion that I can‘t help but empathize with them.

I hadn't ever given much thought to the passengers and crew of the Carpathia, the ship that heard Titanic's distress calls, and at much risk to themselves rushed to help. This book is historical fiction, but a lot of work went into the storyline and it contains real people know to surround the story and events, including mistaken identities when there were multiple passengers with the same names, and burials at sea for those rescued but that...

MaggieCarr ... still perished, and so forth. This book will live in my head for a very, very long time. 5mo

I thought the story would carry the weird writing style. I thought wrong. #HailTheBail

"It was dusk on a winter day, and from high on the mountain came barking, drifting down above the snow like peals of a bell, one, two, three, four, more, just to say the light was leaving, but that was all right: here I am, I'm a dog, all is well."

Trix could not remember this and, given her current interest in historical disasters via the I Survive series, I thought she may enjoy a re-listen. It is an amazing story

Mehso-so

Some young boys on a soccer team in Thailand were stranded in a cave in 2018 while exploring with their coach. The country and people from across the world came together to save them. Obviously, the rescue was incredible and it‘s a wonderful true story, but the book is written in a way that made it drag even though it was short.

Texreader What a shame! I watched this story unfold with such dread and so happy they were rescued 12mo
AvidReader25 @Texreader It‘s not a bad book! Just maybe for a YA audience and not well paced. 12mo
