This book fits the definition of irreverent humor perfectly. If you are capable of having a sense of humor about suicide, it might work. I loved Emily Austin's other two books and their characters, but this felt a bit too much for me.

After the deaths of their parents, 3 sisters find their lives being drawn into different directions from the magical tearoom they run together.
This was delightful! I loved the historical fantasy setting, the sisters‘ relationship was both complicated & lovely, & there was some plot misdirection that kept me guessing. The sisters did feel a little too similar sometimes, & I‘m not a fan of miscommunication for angst‘s sake. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
This was just ok for me. The ending was satisfying, but it took a long time to get there. The amount of fatphobia was very annoying. The characterizations in general felt a bit shallow. It passed the time, though (most of it I listened to as an audiobook at work but read the last third at the airport/during my flight - last third was the strongest part).
Early morning flight. A little over an hour before boarding for me to read and have my iced dirty chai.

I taste? I‘ll show you.

It‘s hard for me to rate this book properly because I read part of it on a trip, then got distracted, then finished at least a month later. I did remember what had happened & was able to get right back into it.
Set during Napoleon‘s last efforts to rule, this is told from 2 sisters perspectives, but they don‘t know about each other at first. Both have magical gifts with flowers. I didn‘t love it for some reason but still a pick. 3/5 ⭐️
Bear is about sisterhood, finding one's own way, and a little bit of mysticism.
Makes you think. I enjoyed it 😊
A fictional story about conjoined twins growing up in Ontario, Canada. Despite the strangeness of the premise, the author makes the girls' lives seem ordinary (but still interesting) and relatable.
