On the second part of our Dune special, we go directly into the plot and discuss all the details. That means full on spoilers.

Is there anything we disliked about Dune? what is the best way to make spice tea? Tune in for episode 51 of the Mind Duck Books Podcast.

#Story Graph: fantasy historical mystery adventurous dark mysterious magic

This was an enchanting ghost story. It‘s been a long time since I‘ve read a book in which one of the main characters was an inanimate object (Whimbtel House). It took awhile to get into the story, but once I did, I cared about the characters so much that I had to keep reading so I could find out what happened to them. I am anxiously awaiting the second book in this series.

#ScarathlonDailyPrompts 6. #night and 23. #story

Short stories inspired by Edward Hopper's paintings. The German edition is named after Hopper's most famous painting Nighthawks and therefore qualifies... 🌉🌚

#ScarathlonDailyPrompts 11. #dark and 23. #story

Another personal favourite. Short horror stories by the author of the 'Ring' series, all connected to water in some way.
Hey, Koji Suzuki knows how to write subtle, quiet horror that slowly creeps into your body... I have read this one at least three times, and yet every story still gives me the shivers.

Soooo … I saw this collection of short stories on Kindle Unlimited and grabbed it up. I hoped it‘d be a good way to rack up points for #scarathlon2022. I‘m abandoning it after 14 stories. Now I have lots of points, but none of the stories really strike me as well-crafted. Creative horror / Halloween ideas, but hohum writing.
