This is a soft pick. It‘s not a bad homage to Austen‘s characters (although I strenuously object to the characterization of Fanny Bertram), and the mystery was pretty good. BUT it was repetitive and tedious in places. I can‘t say more about what really irritated me because #spoilers. I‘ll read the next one, because I adore Juliet and Jonathan, but I‘ll hope for a less cringey conclusion.

Julsmarshall I was conflicted about this one too but liked the second one quite a bit better and am patiently awaiting my library hold on the third 😊 6mo

DGRachel @Julsmarshall Good to know. I was hoping it was just the author getting her feet wet with this group of characters and that future books would improve. I started the series just so I could read about Lady Catherine in the third book. 😂 6mo
