#LittensLoveSJM The Assassin and the Pirate Lord: What a wild swashbuckling ride this was! We get to see 16-year-old Celaena, brash and reckless, sent with Sam on a mission by Arobynn. They are supposed to make a deal with Rolfe, the Pirate Lord, but Arobynn wasn‘t completely forthcoming in the reason for their mission. We see elements of Arobynn‘s corruption and Celaena starts to lose trust in her Master. She also grows closer to her rival Sam⬇️
pickThis book had so much going on. This is a new series to me and I‘m liking it so far. I liked the different point of views and it really kept the book interesting and flowing. I also like reading these with #littenslovesjm and reading it over the month. Can‘t wait for the next one!
pickThis is the 1st Maas book out of the 9 I‘ve now read that I genuinely enjoyed. But darn, it should not take until the 5th book in a series to feel invested…also, there definitely are some plot choices that feel weaker than they should given the build-up. P.S. peep those lil toe beans!

so-so3✨ This was not my favorite book in the series. For one I like Chaol and Dorian as a team with Celeana. They don‘t have to be romantic interests just helping each other. Now there was growth in the characters, and Dorian finds a healer that he might be able to trust. The ending had me crying, angry that they killed a character that I liked, and excited for the next book. Major mixed feelings, but excited to see what happens next!

I felt like it was Boom Boom Boom - each of our characters had smth life altering happening in these final chapters. I‘d like to make special mention of Chaol finally choosing a side and then giving up his name and identity, just as Aelin acknowledges who she really is. That wasn‘t lost on us,SJM. ⬇️
