#HaikuADay #HaikuHive

Spent a peaceful couple of hours at the library & library bookstore this morning. The New Books shelf always draws me in first. 📚📚📚

Library morning,
Unread stories call to me,
New Books shelf beckons

“Shoshana Nambi‘s narrative includes universal themes of community and belonging with the unique cultural traditions of Ugandan Judaism. Set against Uganda‘s picturesque geographical backdrop, this story authentically portrays the Abayudaya community, challenging conventional perceptions of Jewish identity and emphasizing the diversity within global Judaism.“ Read the full review here: https://wowlit.org/on-line-publications/review/xvii-1/10/

This is a different book by Auntie Fay, not in the database.

Always Was Always Will Be is an excellent book of the history of First Nations protest movements in Australia. Suitable for middle grade and up, but I learned things also. Recommended.

The lovely @Texreader has reached a milestone! And she is kind enough to have a Giveaway. Check her page for details.

What I like most about Litsy is the community of book lovers. Everyone is so very kind and welcoming. I don‘t know how many times I have called many of you, when talking to others, my book friends. Because you are.

1) Daffodils, sunshine & fresh air
2) Seeing the most spectacular double rainbow of my life. I wish my pic was better.
3) The distraction of #LitsyTOB
4) Mammogram done, last Pap Smear of my life done! Measles antibody test done. All good news!
5) Pippin. Thankfull for goofy puppy play & evening snuggles.

Folks, I am TIRED! For whatever reason, exacerbated by lack of sleep, I‘m feeling the weight of it all today. Your joys help! 🩵

“Christians, especially ministers, so often think they must always contribute something when they‘re in the company of others, that this is the one service they have to render. They forget that listening can be a greater service than speaking. Many people are looking for an ear that will listen. He who can no longer listen to his brother will soon be no longer listening to God either. This is the beginning of the death of the spiritual life.”

TheBookHippie Are you listening to bear witness, are you listening to respond, is your ego listening or your heart…. 3mo
BarbaraJean @TheBookHippie YEP. Am I listening to understand? Or am I listening to shoehorn in my own opinion and push my own perspective? All questions I'm constantly asking myself as I train in spiritual “companioning.“ Real listening is SO needed right now. 3mo
TheBookHippie @BarbaraJean it‘s part of training for mentoring at risk youth. We have to retrain every 2 years. 3mo
