Blumenthal, our US Senator was there,& spoke eloquently about his promise to keep everyone safe, introduce new legislation,etc. along with many other state & town officials.

“We help each other, and we learn together. In our class, we‘re a family.”

I think this would be a great book to share with your class at the beginning of the year so that they understand the importance of having your class become your family and realizing that they can support each other and have a sense of belonging.

this book talks about the importance of community and having support within a classroom. The author shares a story where each student is valued and celebrated in their classrooms for their different contributions.

“We‘re part of a community. Our strength is our diversity. A shelter from adversity. All are welcome here.”

Many teachers read this at the beginning of the year in their classrooms. It is a great way to introduce class families and acceptance.

All Are Welcome is a book about inclusivity, specifically in the classroom. Children from all different cultures are illustrated in vibrant colors. I really like the style of drawing in the illustrations, as it shows enough detail that you can see diversity without looking too realistic.
