A solid 3.75 read. I‘m a bit behind on reviews for my blog, so when I finally catch up, it‘ll be at https://www.rainyreader.com/single-post/ninth-house.

For all the messaging this book had about writing as a mechanism for telling a deeper, personal truth, I expected it to dig far deeper into its own characters. I was invested in them all, and I loved the setting, but some of the pain points felt only touched on, not fully processed. This was good, but it could have been better. #yalit #yahistoricalfiction #darkacademia #almost
And with that, I‘m done with #pop22! This one fit the use a prompt for previous years. I chose #darkacademia to fit #booked2022.
I‘m not exactly sure how this is dark academia, but I loved this book. I loved the journey that the story took you on and all the fairytales and stories sprinkled in between.
I loved everything about this book and it‘s currently my favorite read of December.

I really enjoyed this book. It is set at the Cloisters which is part of MOMA, a place I'd love to visit. Ann gets a summer job there where she spends her time researching tarot cards, dating the hot gardener and trying to piece together who murdered her boss.

3rd in the Malbry series finds classics teacher Roy Straitley meeting his greatest nemesis, female head La Buckfast, who not only has introduced girls to St oswalds grammar school but also has a story to tell Roy that has him caught like a fish with a hook. This is such a great series that captures the claustrophobia of an English grammar school so well. I love a #darkacademia story

This is a wicked, ingenious, and deliciously shocking ride of a story. Great characterizations and and absolutely awful/wonderful/crazy plot. #DarkAcademia at its best. So, so good!
I just finished this magnificent book and I‘m left with awe. I will give The Poppy War another try after this. As a linguist student, I really enjoyed all the discussions on translation, and as a reader I fell in love with Robin, Ramy and Victoire, and I followed their story until the emotional end. It‘s really, really good.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

The Atlas Paradox is a slow but still engaging sequel. I actually hoped for more character development, and that the characters finally formed actual relationships with each other :/ . Well, I guess there is still Book 3?!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️,5/5

Is she high? Are they all high? Am I high? These questions all crossed my mind while reading this book. I have spent all day thinking about it and finally decided it was a pick for me. CH is an exclusive school with free tuition and room and board. Students must commit to staying for three years (including summers), never leaving the grounds, and then will leave to be successful. I‘m unclear if CH is a college. I know the students are adults. ⬇️
