A few weeks ago I started to feel overwhelmed by my TBR. Most of the shelves in my house contain UNREAD books. And they're overflowing. (Thanks #litfluence!) That's before I count my digital shelves.
So the book buying ban begins. I'm going minimal! And I decide to make a graphic to keep track in minimalism style. Wish me luck!

Kaye Don‘t blame you a bit. There might be others in here that would want to join you in this. I can‘t stand lots of clutter myself so try to keep the books put away and I usually give them away once done with them. 7y

2BR02B While I know I should be following your example (I bought around 40 physical books last month, and around 15 ebooks) I can't bring myself to commit to a book buying ban. My reasoning is that I have relatively few vices, with impulse book buying being the most pronounced. If I quit, who can say what would fill the void? I'd be liable to take up bath salts, or armed robbery instead. 7y
alysonimagines @BarbaraTheBibliophage I can definitely relate to an overwhelming TBR pile! Mine is all digital now, which makes it easier to tuck out of sight but also more dangerous. @2BR02B I know what you mean about vices. I feel like ebook buying is one of my few compulsive addictions and is relatively harmless to myself or others. Also since I am a library orphan, I really depend on those ebook bargains to maintain my reading habit! 7y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen I was shocked when I added it up! The Book Outlet sale and also a lot of cheap ebooks are my excuse. It doesn‘t even count what I bought with the gift certificate from @MicheleinPhilly. I feel like it‘s an obsession. Not so fun! 😜 7y

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Kaye I give most of my books away once I‘m finished too. I know lots of us try to stop buying. My math just doesn‘t add up - I read 10 books a month and buy 30? No bueno for my stress level. 7y

If I make it past the release date of Donna Brazil's' book about the 2016 election (due 11/7), I'll be happy. At least I'm engaging my mind constructively. 7y
