BookBabe @SassyBookworm I love the Oasis! The weight is balanced nicely in the hand, since the battery is all on once side. Much more ergonomic experience. Love the physical page turn buttons. I‘ve never owned a Paperwhite but I did have the Voyage briefly and returned it. The Oasis accomplished what the Voyage didn‘t. 😊 5y

Doughtah @Rohiniranu i‘m working my way thru it atm and it‘s definitely interesting! I‘m only 13% in and i‘ve got loads of questions about the characters. 😊 i like the questioning the Sophie‘s doing as a kid, it‘s a bit of an inspiration to question things more often. 5y

⭐️ I‘m having trouble understanding why this was even published. Perhaps Mr. Miscavige needed to supplement his Exer-Genie income? 🤷🏼‍♀️ This could‘ve been an intriguing article, but as a book, it was unbearably boring. There are plenty of other Scientology memoirs out there that are much better.

Lola @Kaylamburson Bathtub use if exactly what I would use this for. I haven‘t had issues with my waterproof Nook but I don‘t use it that often because almost all of my ebooks are in the Kindle format. 7y

Lola @EvieBee I thought about the waterproof Kobo too but ended up with the Nook because I bought it during a book fair with B & N that was benefitting my kids‘ school-at least that‘s how I justified it 😂😂) but almost all of my ebooks are Kindle so this is a much better choice for me. 7y

Kaylamburson Hmm I'll have to consider it. Maybe after the holidays the price will go down a little. My paperwhite is still great, but the battery doesn't last weeks anymore. Now only a few days.. I have a fire, too, but I use that more for audible and as a tablet. I hate reading on the screen. @lola 7y

Lola @BarbaraTheBibliophage I wasn‘t sure that I liked the Oasis form factor (I think it looks odd in photos) but checked one out in person at the Amazon store here and was very impressed. 7y

Lola @Kaylamburson I am not a fan of tablet/phone reading but will do it in a pinch-I much prefer dedicated e-readers. I use my phone for Audible so won‘t get the 32G version of the Oasis. The 8 is already double the Voyage and the PW. I just spent this much $ tonight to have my daughter‘s head professionally deloused (😩) so this purchase will have to wait a bit. 7y

Kaylamburson Oh no!!! I'm so sorry to hear that you and your daughter just had to deal with lice. Ugh. I remember getting it in elementary school and it was so traumatizing when my parents had to take away all my stuffed animals for the few days. I hope you're both doing better now that she is deloused. But yeah, I'm not a fan of tablet reading either. Occasionally I will on my phone, but it just annoys me and kills my battery. I mostly do audio in my phone 7y

Lola @Kaylamburson Thanks :) We went through this when she was 11 (she‘s 15 now) and it was much harder on everyone back then. It‘s still yucky and gross but not as traumatizing. Maybe a little on me-I thought this was strictly in the realm of elementary school parenting 🙄 7y

Suetara I played with the original Oasis at the Amazon bookstore in Chicago earlier this week. (Had to see the store, just to satisfy my curiosity.). I liked it but wasn‘t really tempted to upgrade from my 1st gen paperwhite. But now, I seriously want the new Oasis. Decisions, decisions. 7y

Kaylamburson Ugh that's awful. But hopefully the last one you have to deal with! I was getting nervous because I go to an elementary school once a week during lunch to read with a student, and she was itching and said that there was a lice breakout at the school. I felt very itchy that day, haha. @lola 7y

Suetara I‘m in Champaign, but I‘d be happy to come to Chicago for a meetup. My husband and I were in Chicago for the day on Monday-hit some bookstores and a comic store. I‘m so sorry about the lice. On the first day of summer in 2016, I discovered that both of my kids had them. Not our best couple of weeks. I had taken some time off of work to hang out with them, and that was NOT the way we had intended to spend our time. 7y

99.9% of the books that I "read" are audiobooks because it's more convenient with two toddlers constantly on the move. The few minutes I do read before bed tend to me on my iPhone rather than my Kindle Fire. Kindle Paperwhite For Dummies | Leslie H. Nicoll

I'll admit it took me a while to warm up to e-readers and when I finally decided to take the plunge I agonized over which would be the best one and finally settled for the Kindle Paperwhite and have pretty happy with it. I love that all my books are readily available and with the Kindle app on my iPhone I can sneak a quick read at any time 😜

Faibka @Tsubame It took me a long time to warm up to them as I also looove the feel and smell of a book, but starting to see the benefits and now I love it as well. Still, as you can tell by my posts, I do keep buying books, that's probably not going to stop 😜 7y

Here are my two #ereaders. On the left, my old Kindle; it's glitchy, but still functional. On the right, my beloved, brand-new Kindle Paperwhite! I'm inclined to headaches and to migraines, as well as hand/wrist pain, and the Paperwhite is a total life-saver. I check out ebooks from the library or get them on sale for $3 or less. If I'm paying full price, I'd rather have it in print! But still, I love my Kindle. #seasonsreadings2016

#SeasonsReadings2016 Day 11: #ereader! I don't have a Kindle because I just got into eBooks after a few years of only reading physical books, so for now, I stick to iBooks on my phone. I do believe a Kindle is on my shopping list for after Christmas sales, though!

RealLifeReading Oh yes the paperwhite is so good! But I also do a lot of reading on my Google Nexus 7. Unfortunately Google doesn't seem to want to make any tablets of that size 7y
