I love Fleetwood Mac so much. I‘m blown away by their harmonies every time I listen to their Rumours album. “Go Your Own Way” is one of my favorite tracks.

We were in Manchester yesterday to attend a concert, "Fleetwood Mac by Candlelight" (tickets kindly obtained by our son's partner), and it was held in this amazing venue, The Monastery. It's a deconsecrated former gothic-revival church & monastery designed by Pugin, which fell into disrepair and has been renovated as an events venue and multifaith spiritual centre. It's a lovely place.

It wasn't until the end that I realized this was an unauthorized biography. There were so many parenthetical statements throughout the book that I found them to be annoying, but I learned a lot about Stevie Nicks and her songs! I wish she would write a memoir.

This biography tells the comprehensive story of Stevie Nicks and all of the people close to her. Only knowing Stevie through her music, I learned so much about her. The author spends a large portion of the book detailing how Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac, the relationships between members, their music, and time on tour. I included some cool You Tube videos in my blog post.

Who knew it was possible to write such a boring book about one of the most fascinating rock bands of all time creating one of the most successful albums of all time?

If you‘re interested in the technical minutiae of sound engineering/music production, then you might enjoy this. But the unnecessary tangents about Caillat‘s dating life, humblebragging about his daughter, and frankly unbelievable recall of conversations contribute to its failure.

I needed something different and Stevie is always a source of inspiration for me.

Mild pick. I can‘t say I learned anything earth shattering about Stevie Nicks‘ time in Fleetwood Mac and after. I pretty much already knew the broad strokes of most of the inter-band drama and Stevie‘s journey with drug addiction. The most out-there fact I did learn was that Stevie Nicks was a Twi-Hard and even wrote songs in the 2000s inspired by Twilight. Overall, I enjoyed the peek into 1970s-80s music industry but wasn‘t overly impressed.

Week Three totals for #LittenListen. The only audiobook I finished was the tagged, a biography of Stevie Nicks (review TBD), but I got extra points for #CuriousCovers (Woman), finishing a square on my #BookSpinBingo, and June holidays (Road Trip Day). I have some shorter books I am planning on sneaking in during the last 10 days.

Started listening to this yesterday for #LittenListen, but didn‘t realize it also fit for the cover prompt also! I love Fleetwood Mac and have consumed a lot of documentaries and videos about them, so looking forward listening to the full story.
