Her husband is busy at work and he abdicates all responsibility for the child. The exhaustion, anger, disappointment, loneliness, desperate love and raging anger toward a young child, all of it was perfectly described.

Tamra I was lucky, my husband was really great co-parenting both of our children as infants & tots. (Not that he isn‘t now, but that‘s the focus of the novel.) I have serious admiration and at times sympathy for single parents & guardians without a source of support. 1w
Suet624 @Tamra my situation is so varied. Three marriages, children every 7 years with the last two being twins. I was a single mom occasionally. My last husband was very helpful. The others, not so much. Living in a commune with my first child was VERY helpful. 1w
