ElizaMarie Okay, so May suspects, but what does she do about it? Do you think she is siding with the family against Ellen because of this suspicion? Like, secretly (or not so), she wants Ellen to be destitute, to financial and societal ruin? Or just to get her to leave? Either way? 6d

Bookwormjillk @ElizaMarie The passage with may at the end where it said what she said in one phrase and then said what she meant in about 2 paragraphs was so interesting. I'm not sure she even knows what she wants though other than to maybe keep up appearances and practice archery in peace? 6d
Cuilin “They smell less if one blows them out”!!!!!!! Methinks May wants rid of Ellen. (edited) 6d
mcctrish I love how Archer knows exactly what May is saying even though she‘s saying nothing, AS IF! Nobody talks about anything, how would he know what goes unspoken #utternonsense but his guilt is talking loud in his head, that‘s for sure 6d
lil1inblue @Cuilin 🎯😏 6d
lil1inblue @mcctrish Exactly! His arrogance is beyond the pale. #dick 6d
lil1inblue “Archer's New York tolerated hypocrisy in private relations; but in business matters it exacted a limpid and impeccable honesty.“ So Beaufort can be a #cheatingcheaterwhocheats at home and no one gives a fork, but he can't fail in business! How horrid! #shameshame 6d
mcctrish @lil1inblue at least they are worrying about Beaufort‘s wife now being left penniless ( as opposed to when he was gallivanting around town and throwing money at women who weren‘t her) 6d
lil1inblue @mcctrish I felt like they were less worried about Beaufort's wife, and more worried about the disgrace to the family name. #horrors 6d
Clare-Dragonfly They‘re worried about Beaufort‘s wife being ostracized by his screw-ups. But they could choose not to ostracize her 🙄 6d

I never read books out of order. Never.

This is #8 in a series + reads as a standalone (and might have football in it, Go Cardinals!) so I'm gonna try the "reads-well-as-a-standalone" thing. But I'm nervous about jumping ahead. #bookwormproblems #readingquirks #imsureitwillbefine

? Do you guys & gals ever read companion series out of order? Am I the only one that is a complete stickler about reading. in. order. always? Surely not!

OSChamberlain Oh man I could never. You're brave! I'm way too ocd for that. 9y
Lauren_reading Her books can be read out of order - I started this series years ago by reading the 3rd book 😀 I also hate messing up the series order!! 9y
Karenlovesbooks I'm also a stickler for reading in order! 9y

LeahBergen Reading out of order makes me so anxious! 😂 9y
mllemay @LeahBergen same here lol 9y
PrincessLibrarian Oh, reading out of order would almost certainly give me a panic attack. No. Never. 9y
Gayan Never, just the thought of it makes me feel unwell. 9y
Pandyfish Same! The problem is when you pick up a book without realizing it's 2nd in the series.... 😫 9y
megt I'm with @LeahBergen and @mllemay! Just thinking about reading a series out of order makes me anxious, haha. 9y
Lizpixie I read In Pursuit of The Proper Sinner by Elizabeth George first, which is bk10 in the Lynley series & Aftermath by Peter Robinson which is bk12 in Inspector Banks because they were the first by that author I'd ever seen. Afterwards, I went to a 2ndhand bookstore (sadly no longer here☹️) and bought all the previous books of both. I'm a bit OCD like that. 9y
raelaschoenherr This isn't really a series. You're totally fine! Mostly it's just people who have played for or are connected to a fictional sports team. And I think it's mostly marketing :) 9y
