Audible BOTM, but also on my TBR list.
In 18th century France a girl makes a pact with the devil to escape a forced marriage: her soul in exchange for immortality. But there is of course a catch - she makes no mark on the world and no-one she meets remembers her. Until Henry…
Well-written, addictive and romantic. Frustratingly, I found myself falling for Luc. But then I also romanticise Rhett Butler and Heathcliff #issues
Just finished this recently and it's absolutely one of the best middle grade books I've read so far this year! Beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, uplifting, and inspiring! 💕📚🐢
Got to read 5 chapters of this plus a chapter of my other textbook and all I can think about is how I don't really want to do homework and would like to do anything else....oh well last semester and I will have my associate's degree in business administration.
Chaplin is excited to dive in to some new middle grade books with me! 😽💕📚 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #chaplin

4⭐White Bird: A Wonder story
We learn about Julian's namesake from his Grandmere Sara. She is saved from the Nazis by her disabled classmate. Such a heart-wrenching tale I wish it could have ended differently.
4⭐ Turtle Boy
A story of friendship, coming out of your shell and more. Will is preparing for his bar mitzvah; so his Rabbi recommends he spend time with a terminally ill teen as a service project.
Laughter is good for the soul but so is wine and really good conversations about books. My neighbors are the absolute best! Every time I visit I feel as if I‘ve taken a trip to the bookstore and had my soul renewed. I can‘t wait to dive into Turtle Boy. #turtleboy #graphicnovels #wineandconversation
I liked the character growth...it was very much needed. There were lots of big issues: grief, maintaining friendships when you aren‘t even certain who you are, spirituality and coming of age celebrations, bullying, and body dysmorphia. The aspects of Jewish religion and culture were fascinating and inspiring. It took me half the book to become interested in the character and I doubt most kids will hang around that long.
A fun, quick, feel good read that helped me jump start my 2020 reading goals. 🎉
