Welp, it finally happened. Frankly, I‘m surprised it took this long. I finally dropped my phone in the toilet. 😱💩💀 It‘s working right now... but chances that it will continue working aren‘t good.

We‘ve decided to search for used phones on Amazon instead of buying new devices at Verizon, which may take a small chunk of days. My presence may be scarce on Litsy for the next week or so. Any tips on dealing with the shakes? #kiddingnotkidding

callunakeep @monalyisha each time i kept my wet devices in the rice for 24-48 hours and they lived out their normal lifespan without fail! 6y

monalyisha @CrowCAH Mine went through a phase recently where it would, totally unprompted, call emergency numbers. 😆 This was probably a blessing in (porcelain) disguise. 6y

Bookish_AF The rice trick worked for me to keep a phone functioning after an incident with a bathtub. Of course I‘d had a previous incident with a puddle where the phone did not survive so I had learned a few things to increase my chance of success 😜 It was time to replace the bathtub phone anyways but it kept working until I got the new one! 6y

DimeryRene I dropped my phone in the toilet at home once. Was getting in the shower and lowering the toilet seat to put my towel on top of it. But I was lowering it with my hand that already had my phone in it. Thinking, “Don‘t you drop this phone in there.” ... plunk 💦 6y

Jilly6183 Another trick is leave it on something that blows out light air. Like the vent on a cable box. I dropped my phone in the toilet once and that worked for me! 6y

Burghbookaddict I did this a few years ago and tried the whole "put it in a bag of rice" thing. When I took it into the Verizon store (still in the bag of rice) the guy laughed at me and was like, "yeah, that doesn't actually work." ☹ Also, I buy all of my phones off Ebay now because I'm not paying $900 for a phone. 6y

monalyisha Thanks @Ddzmini ! We‘ve also been told to look at gazelle.com (info which I‘ll share in case anyone‘s in the same boat). Crazily enough, my phone is still working! 🙏🏻 But its time for new phones, anyway. Regardless, it may not effect my Litsy usage, which, let‘s be honest, is all I really care about (just kidding 😆)! 6y
