A wonderful vegetarian cookbook with ecipes range throughout Asia including Southern Asia and parts of the Middle East. Stylistically beautiful, though lacking the photos found in modern cookbooks. Shows its age in cookery styles and defining terms more commonly understood now. Nevertheless, the recipes are easily understood and modified for individual tastes in addition to wide reaching in flavors and contents.
Get a look at these end papers! Love the retro design, but the color! 🤢In the early 70‘s the dominant color in my parents‘ home was this avocado/army green. Oh Lordy it was ugly: carpet, appliances, linoleum, bathroom fixtures, even the dishes!
Please let‘s not redo the 70‘s! In Target the other day my husband noticed the clothing in the women‘s dept. was very reminiscent of the era. 😬 No thanks, I‘d rather be unfashionably dressed.
I couldn‘t locate the 2018 edition of this tome in the database. I love the modern variety of recipes and variations on themes.
It set me on a quest for Nashville Hot Chicken in our metro area! (I‘m not a deep fryer at home.) I found one place that offers a gradation of heat, starting with “Minnesota Nice”, which is none of course. Bahahaha 😂🤣
I managed to snag a pristine copy from Abe Books for under $10!
Bought a fancy new stove today. For no more than I actually cook, I maybe could have gone more basic but I was seduced by the bells and whistles. Plus, it was only $100 more than the basic one I was looking at. It doesn‘t come until Friday and I‘m working 10 that day so I won‘t really get to mess with it until Saturday but it‘ll be refreshing to have a functioning oven and burners I do t have to manually light.
