Low pick. This was a bit long and I don‘t like long romances. Rosie gets sexually harassed by her boss and then fired, so she goes back home to her small town. Ford is from a rich family, but earns his own money and decides to start his own business in this small town. Rosie and Ford reconnect after 10 years and romance ensues.

Finished 5/20.

Jas16 The next book in the series is equally long but I liked it a lot more. 1w
Laughterhp @Jas16 Good to know! I‘ll check it out. 1w

#WeeklyFavorites @Read4life

My favorite book for the last of April was Rival by Penelope Douglas. My favorite for the month is Wild Love but Eleanor and Park was a close second.

Read4life I loved rereading Eleanor & Park in April!! 💙📚💙 1mo

I so need a guy like the MMC, Ford. Just don't tell hubby. 🤫😉😅 I loved the characters and the snarky banter between them. The plot was good too if a bit slow in places. Already looking forward to book two in the series. 4🌟 #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 #Read2025 @DieAReader

Happy Tuesday! Here are today's #Two4Tuesday questions. Everyone is welcome to play. I will tag a few Littens to get us started.

My answers:
💵 Yes, I still carry cash. A couple of restaurants and local businesses offer a discount if you pay with cash.
💵 The MMC comes from money and made a lot of money himself in the tech industry. Some his actions are greatly influenced by his wealth.

Did not love this as much as the first two. Although I do love the characters, the story was kind of predictable and some things felt a little forced. Nonetheless, an extremely cute romance.

With Christmas stories, both movies and books, my favorites will always be the ones that build on the foundation of the Holiday. Where the storyline can't just edit out a few scenes or chitchat for the story/characters to easily be transported to another season.

This wasn't festive throughout, yet it would have been weird if it had been, due to the disaster.

👇

AnnCrystal No, this was not Christmassy in that way. This story was incredibly more than about just celebrating.

It is about showing “Good Will“ towards neighbors and strangers, about that special kind of “Hope“ and “Faith in the Unbelievable“ that the magic of Christmastime inspires in many, and about what the “Magic of Christmas“ could mean for a child.

AnnCrystal I can watch Christmas rom-coms and Christmas dramas non-stop, yet I usually struggle reading these because romance and drama are normally way outside my reading genres. While it took until chapter three to find this interesting, it truly tells about the strength of Lucy Score's storytelling power to be able to pull me into this story so incredibly.

AnnCrystal My mom's tragic stories about growing up with an abusive, acholic mother did echo as I read Noah's backstory and how it shaped his character. I believe Lucy Score wrote Noah with respect to her character and to her readers. The facts were light, yet heavily written into the story. Someone with more personal experiences with an abusive, acholic parent may struggle.

AnnCrystal I can say that this does make the second book in my reading journey to make me cry. Noah did renew/reinforce my understanding and appreciation for my mom.

While this book was not about the True meaning of Christmas in the religious sense, nor the Santa-kind of Magic of Christmas. What this did capture is the essence of Christmas.

AnnCrystal This was a haters to lovers rom-com. Yet it was wonderfully more. It had the best kind of ingredient that can be woven into any story, Hope.

The ending was perfect ☺️📚🌲💖🎄💝💝💝.

A fun, enemies to lovers romance with a lot of spice once it finally happens. Cat is a strong, intelligent, go getter. Not a literary masterpiece, but it‘s not meant to be. Book #119 in 2024
