The Bermuda Triangle | Charles Berlitz, Joseph Manson Valentine

Pickpick

The Bermuda ‘Triangle‘ in the southern Atlantic Ocean is one of the biggest mysteries that I don‘t think will ever be revealed. For an older book on the subject (1974), the author documents these strange events pretty well and goes into many theories; he does not land on any specific theory but wonders, like the rest of us. Fascinating.

PurpleyPumpkin In the 70s and 80s, the Bermuda Triangle seemed like such a huge thing! I remember shows and movies about it. As a kid, I found it terrifying! Now, you hardly hear about it. 🤔 2d
JenniferEgnor @PurpleyPumpkin I was obsessed with it (still am). I wonder why there isn‘t much chatter about it these days. I wish all the scary things would just disappear in there. 2d
mcctrish Where did it go? 2d
PurpleyPumpkin @JenniferEgnor @mcctrish Exactly! Where indeed? I guess it‘s not in fashion these days but I, too, still find it fascinating. Stacked!📚 2d

dabbe Love the humor and beauty in this one. Turns out that Robert Plant hates that song, too, and he wrote the lyrics! 🤣🖤🐝🖤🤣 2mo

lil1inblue @dabbe I never knew that! 😂 I never got the Stairway hype. I like the song, but I don't LOVE the song. 2mo
lil1inblue 😂 😂 😂 It looks, and sounds, like an amazing hike! 😍 2mo
Kristy_K @JenlovesJT47 It‘s at Nuuksio National Park in Finland but now I‘ve got to add Castle Rock to my places to visit! 2mo
Kristy_K @dabbe Thank you! I didn‘t know that. This makes me feel more justified about my dislike then lol. 2mo
Kristy_K @Eggs It killed me hiking it but was so worth it! 2mo
Kristy_K @lil1inblue It was great and so beautiful and peaceful! 2mo
BooksandCoffee4Me @Kristy_K @dabbe @lil1inblue It‘s popular because every new guitar player in the 70s “earned” social credit when they could play the intro. I know because it was my goal too. 😂 2mo

Completely fascinating book about Area 51, which the US has never acknowledged, and the nuclear and airplane research and testing that have occurred there. This gives insight into where UFO conspiracy theories may have originated. I do take it with a grain of salt, though, given that some of the information isn‘t truly verifiable.

tpixie I enjoyed this also. 5mo

Diablo Mesa, is the 4th Book with Nora Kelly an archaeologist. This is the third book with Corrie Swanson, FBI Special Agent. They are working together on cases, with Nora‘s brother Skip & their dog Mitty. This book is my favorite so far!!! I can not stop listening!!!!! I woke up three times last night and had to listen for 10 mins to fall back asleep! So good!! Can‘t wait to get to the end!!

Recently, my husband and I discovered a captivating television show on National Geographic called UFOs: Investigating the Unknown. There, I added books to my TBR, including the tagged book. This biography about John Mack, a Harvard psychiatrist, who stumbled upon an opportunity to meet with individuals who claimed to have been abducted by aliens.

This was between a So-So and a Pan. The actual stories of UAP are super cool, but this book gets so bogged down by government acronyms, and bureaucratic bullshit, I struggled to follow along. (56)

The universe is unfathomably huge. Are we alone? A few books I‘ve read make me think about the idea of life out there in a scientific and sensible way. This one adds to the intrigue, focusing on UAPs—the US government‘s term for UFOs. The author quit his Pentagon job (Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program) to share information with the public. Not ready to say I believe in aliens, but tell me more.

Chelsea.Poole This one really changed my way of thinking, though most astrophysicists disagree with Loeb, it‘s still an interesting read. 10mo

While the early chapters discuss UFOs and the closing chapter reveals a jaw-dropping explanation of the Roswell Incident, this book delves into more than just that.

With access to declassified info & interviews with those who were present at Area 51, Annie Jacobson provides a fascinating & detailed account of our government‘s efforts to conduct top-secret experiments in the realm of espionage & military warfare.

A shocking and fascinating read.
