Verity | Colleen Hoover

Pickpick

"Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish... What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read."

*TRIGGER WARNINGS*

vkois88 You guys! This is definitely what I'd call a #UniqueRead of all the books I've read by Colleen Hoover. I devoured this book in about 2 days, which is an accomplishment with a toddler. It was raunchy, graphic, evil... to sum it up? FANTASTIC. 5🌟

Why We Broke Up | Daniel Handler

#anewchapter #uniqueread

From the synopsis: ‘Min Green and Ed Slaterton have broken up. All that is left of their relationship is a box, and inside it is the reason why they broke up, comprised of bottles caps, matches, a protractor, and various other objects of great significance. It's an odd, funny, heartfelt story of love and loss told through the most unlikely assortment of items.‘

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Sounds interesting!!! 6y
vkois88 I think I've heard of this one!! It sounds like it would be cute... 6y

#ANewChapter #Day5 #UniqueRead
With a format that blends a novel with a comic book, I think this one definitely qualifies as a unique read. And then the story itself blurs the lines between reality, the stories we write, and the stories we tell ourselves. I truly loved this book and think everyone should read it. I definitely will be rereading this in the near future.

I picked this for today's prompt cause its the only book i know of where rights were striped away. After O.J tried to profit off writting the book a judge ruled in favor of Goldman family of the rights & profits from the book & i remember they put the If in the title real small print to really emphasize it as a confession. Litsy even has it under both names for the author.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I remember watching this trial!! 😡😡 6y
vkois88 I didn't realize they had re-released it under their names and dropping the "If"... that's interesting. But I'm glad. The whole thing was crazy. That poor family... 6y

My husband is currently reading this one and while I am not sure it is my cup of tea I do think it works well for #uniqueread #husbandsoflitsy #anewchapter

Klou Woah. That is VERY unique! 6y
Scurvygirl Not only unique... what a story! 6y
Freespirit I have wanted to read this for a while 6y

Addison_Reads I read this one last year. It was a tough one to stick with, but in the end I was glad I read it. It's definitely not for everyone, and it will leave you with a lot of WTH did I just read moments. Very unique indeed. 6y
ofbooksandme I bought it last year and still haven't read it! 6y
ReadingEnvy I read this when we were house hunting and had crazy nightmares 6y
tournevis It's one of the best reading experiences of my life. I don't scare easily and this one had me quivering. 6y
WhatThePuck Left me wondering why I even bothered to finish. I spent all this time turning the book every which way and the ending was bleh. 6y
JoScho @Klou @Scurvygirl @Freespirit @Addison_Reads @ofbooksandme @ReadingEnvy @tournevis yeah it is supposed to be really scary and my husband is really enjoying it. I read a few pages he shared with me and it seems interesting. 6y
JoScho @WhatThePuck it does seem like a lot of work with all the footnotes and such. Not sure I will read it. 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks 💙💙💙 6y
SconsinBookyBadger HoL is a test of patience. I‘ve had my copy almost 5 years and I just cannot finish it. Someday I will but not anytime soon. 6y
JoScho @AnansiGirl yeah I don‘t think it is my kind of read. 6y
vkois88 Oh no... I couldn't read something like that. It would overwhelm me 😕 I don't mind when some pages have the text form shapes... but that much?? Holy cow 6y
heylaurenmack Mark Z. Danielewski is one of my top 5 of all time and I don‘t even like all his work. The Familiar series might appeal more to you. House of Leaves is like taking a PhD path in unreliable narrator. 6y
JoScho @heyLM oh I will tell my husband about the Familiar series. He is the one reading this-I think it would frustrate me. 6y

This book comes to mind as a unique read because I have never felt such intense feelings of terror while reading anything else! I remember I started this one during a really difficult period in my life and it sucked me in from the first page and gave me the escape that I needed! Interestingly enough, I haven‘t read anything else by this author although I know she has written many books. Any recommendations?

FairyHighRoad My mom loves all of Gardner‘s books. I‘ve only read Fear Nothing by her and really enjoyed it. 6y

Paula3 I've read all her books. She has 2 different series & they are both worth the investment of time. D.D Warren is a favorite character of hers. She's one of my favorite thriller authors ♡ 6y
BookBabe Stacked! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @FairyHighRoad I‘ll check that one out! Thanks! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Paula3 Does it matter if you read them out of order? 6y
Paula3 @TheFunkyBookworm yes, unfortunately it matters. Each series is sort of independent however there is an order within the series. DD Warren shows up in a few of the FBI Profiler series & vice versa 6y
vkois88 Oh man, I have this sitting on my shelf... I need to get to it!! 6y
