#booktober day 9:favourite mg series. The Jumbies and Rise Of the Jumbies are such exciting books with realistic characters who handle their situation in a way that‘s believable (despite the fact they are taking on Jumbies!) My 8yr old kid loves it‘s do I! #mgbooktober

#booktober day 8: a book that deserves more recognition than it gets. I went into to this book not knowing it was classified as horror, which perhaps made it even more haunting to me.

#booktober day 6: best book cover ever! This was so hard to pick! I actually rarely pay attention to the cover of books, but if there is one that intrigued me and made me want to read it, it was this. I was very young when I first read this book and thinking of this cover and it was for a kid book, well, I just HAD to read it! #mgbooktober

#booktober day 5: favourite school based adventure! Obviously it has to be these oldies but goodies! One of the best thing about having an 8yr old is getting to reread old favourites and laugh again at Greg Heffley‘s misadventures!

#booktober day 4: A book you couldn‘t put down. This book was so good and I stayed up way too late just to finish it. I believe there will be more and it will be a series, and that makes me so happy!

What a fun book! I enjoyed it and so did my first grader. She keeps looking at all the pictures. This is a fun take on monsters and hidden dark spots. This novella is so good, it makes you sad it is so short! Less than 100 pages but so unique, with a main character I have certainly never read about before. I can't say more as I don't want to give anything away. It is #ScienceFiction but also more than that, meaning that if #scifi is not necessarily your thing, I'd still recommend this. This book is not particularly good or funny. It relies heavily on the reader already having watched the movie. So why do I recommend it? Because it shows women being #Scientists, being #badass and not afraid of ghost. The cartoons are cute and it is sometimes fun to read a book that the kid likes even if you don't. A good book for first graders. Not scary at all. Although the main character is a #witch, the story is really about believing in yourself, which is always a great message to find in books! The first "big kid" book my kid has read alone. For the month of #October I thought I would share with her #Halloween themed books. Franny is so funny! Even I was laughing as my kid read aloud, the hubs laughed too whenever he was in earshot. The story keeps you interested and was suspenseful w/o being too scary.
