I just couldn‘t finish it. I think the hype made me expect more from this book than there was. The characters all got on my nerves. The two main characters didn‘t really have any chemistry, i thought their relationship was going to go somewhere at one point but it didn‘t. Overall, slightly dissapointing

I can‘t recall how many times I cried. Not all sad thankfully, with reunions and small pieces of happiness weaved throughout. It‘s such a wonderful book to end a wonderful series! I don‘t have the words to explain my thoughts on it all but just know that if you‘re beginning to read this series, or you‘re part way through it - this last book will not disappoint. I‘m going to miss the characters in this book but they got the ending they deserved

A slow beginning but it really picked up towards the end! Throughout the series Chaol went from one of my fav characters, to my least fav and is on his way back up to my favs. I understand why Maas made this book separate from the previous, it would‘ve been too much information all at once otherwise and even though I enjoyed the book, I wish it wasnt as long and wasnt straight after the amazing ending of the book before this one.

I‘m about 1/4 of the way through at the moment. So far it‘s a bit slow and I miss all the other characters. I understand that Maas couldn‘t have fit all of the stuff in Erilea going on aswell as stuff with Chaol but so far, I‘m just trying to get through this one in order to get to the last book. But hopefully it picks up

Another good book to a great series! I did find this book dragged on a bit but I kept going with it. Some of storyline was confusing but I got it once the mirror was involved. The ending of this book tho, holy shit I was STRESSED, it was amazing!!! It was so hard to read but also to put down!

I‘ve read the blurb to the next book and I‘m a bit annoyed about its theme after the ending to EoS but I‘m hoping it will pick up once I start reading it

Another great addition to the series! Chaol annoyed me so much in this book though, he was on such a high horse that he didn‘t realise how much Aelin was actually trying to help. I love Manons storyline! I love that there are other major characters being introduced! The ending was fantastic and overall another really good book!! Onto the next one!

Finally getting a chance to sit down and read a bit more! First week back at University which means that this book had to sit on the shelf for a bit until now!

Also, this cat is called Rodge, he likes to climb in my window and sleep all day on my bed. He‘s super friendly and it‘s nice to have an animal around during the stressful times of uni work!

Amazing amazing amazing! This is probably my favourite book so far in the series! The plot and a top start to get REAL in this book! I love that you keep up with all the characters and get to see Celaenas growth in accepting who she is! This can be said for all the characters we‘ve met so far and more really, slowly throughout you can see them starting to accept themselves! I‘m gonna start the next book right now!

Such a good book!! The relationship between Chaol and Celaena really grows as well as the friendship between Dorian and Celaena and Nehemia and Celaena. Even though some things may seem complicated, by the end of the book everything makes sense! Celaenas badass assassin side comes out more in this book and it‘s really exciting to see that! I love her character overall and I‘ve already started the next book!!!

Like the other Sarah J Maas series I‘ve read, the first book is never the strongest BUT unlike other books I‘ve read in the past (assassins apprentice), this one kept me interested throughout! I read some reviews before starting this book that people didn‘t like how Celaena suddenly became this girly girl with frilly clothes but right at the beginning she says she‘s always been a huge fan of clothes?? Anyway! Great book overall!

It was an easy read. Honestly I couldn‘t really stand the characters - including the Darkling. Alina was mostly annoying throughout, it‘s as if she didn‘t care that the Darkling was hunting her (the Butter Week scene). I didn‘t feel any strong connection to the characters and I‘m happy to finish the series there, the ending of the first book was good enough for me to not feel the need to read anymore tbh

I had to quit this book, I‘ve heard so many amazing things about this series and the author but I had to give up.

There just wasn‘t enough action or excitement for me, it felt slow moving and too political. I found myself thinking back to the book I had read previously to this one which wasn‘t a great sign as to my enjoyment for this book

TrishB The first one is slow as it‘s the building block to the rest of the series. 4y

Again, such a great book to the series! The characters and plot were amazing with the characters growing with each other and with themselves. I loved the build up to the ending and everyone‘s ways of coping with it. This all being said, I felt that the ending was rushed, too much happened in a short amount of chapters that, for a fantasy, it felt completely unrealistic. Still love Feyre and Rhys though, they stick with me for a long time!

Love love loved this book!!! I thought it was better than the first tbh. It gave so much more to the world of Prythian with the new characters adding so much more emotions aswell. The way the author slowly showed how Feyre was amazing, it showed how she was changing as a person and how her love for Tamlin and others also changed (if you‘ve read it, you‘ll know what I mean)

idealityandme I'm SO afraid to jump into book two with all this talk about the love interest changing to Rhys🙈😢 I dont know if I can take it. 4y

It was a really well written book. I really enjoy books where‘s the more intense or active scenes are easy to get lost in as if you‘re there - I find it hard to find books that do this well. But Maas did this so well!

It took a while to get into, I believed it picked up around chapter 20ish?? But it‘s definitely worth carrying on with it! The way it ends makes you just want to dive straight into the next one which I‘m extremely excited to do!

Does anyone know of any other good book series which is similar to this one? I‘m reading A Court of Thornes and Roses at the moment but after I finish that series I‘d really like to find a good fantasy/sci-fi series? Any recommendations?

The last book of a series didn‘t fail to keep me on the edge of my seat! It was amazing to see the story set in a new location, with harder challenges for the group to deal with. I cried. Happy and sad tears.

Winter was a great addition to the group, allowing for a new perspective on the other characters. She was crazy and I loved her. I wish her ending was more final but the ending allowed for you to imagine what was coming next.

Great series!

MElizabethTait I love that series so much. It's always my number one answer for anyone wondering what type of books I read 😂 4y

Another great book in the series! Thought there could be more chapters about Scarlet, she felt like a bit of a missing piece in this book. But the overall growth of the other characters and the story was amazing! I normally find fight scenes hard to imagine when they‘re being described but Marissa Meyer did an amazing job of playing out the fight scene on the roof top! Was on the edge of my seat through much of the book!

pareads I adore Cress & Thorne scenes 😭 5y
Amam @aprek 😍 they were beautiful! Thought it was so clever that Marissa Meyer called him Thorne and he went blind, like the classic tale of Rapunzals love interest falling into thorns and losing his sight! 5y
pareads @Amam I actually didn‘t realize that. That is so clever!! 5y
Amam @aprek I didn‘t either until about half way through the book 😂 5y

I loved this book so much! It was nice to keep updated on Cinder whilst learning the personalities of all the new characters, each playing an important roll. Thorne is by far the best character, he has a great sense of humour and charm!

A wonderful twist to a classic fairytale! If you‘re not a fan of Cinderella or Disney‘s version of it then you don‘t need to worry about this book being cliche or anything like classic. It follows the same basic story of Cinderella having a stepmother and stepsisters, there‘s a prince and a ball but that‘s all about what‘s similar. It‘s an amazing book and I can‘t wait to read the rest of the series

The series as a whole is fantastic, the character development is slow but still recognisable! The ending was an interesting take on wanting to explore different worlds!

Only comment would be that there were too many “they died..wait no they didn‘t” storylines in this part of the series

Finally got round to finish it. It‘s a really good book with a very good sense of character development. Many frustrating characters like Orpheus and Feneglio but the Black Prince and Dustfinger make up for their arrogance. I‘m excited to start reading the next one!

So far, it‘s really good. A really interesting story to read a book in a book! Can definitely see the character development from the original characters, just hoping that the plot doesn‘t get too lost.

Had to put it on stand by for now as I‘m reading a book for a book club but will get back to it when I can

The ending left you open to so many questions. The beginning of the story giving you this massive story line that you expect to find out more to throughout the book, it doesn‘t really conclude and barely touches on the main story of the book
