Echo Ridge may appear perfect to outsiders, but Ellery quickly learns that it's hiding many secrets--especially when it comes to the many disappearances of girls. Twisty and full of fascinating characters, this book will keep you on your toes until the very end.

War Storm certainly wraps up the series nicely, but still leaves room for the imagination at the end. Once you're invested in the story, you'll definitely want to keep going in War Storm, even if the length is a bit daunting. Red Queen is still the best book in the series, in my opinion, but this is a worthy follow up.

After 4 months, I finally finished the audiobook! The narration was probably the best part, though I also liked the extra details that you don't get in the show. Definitely check it out!
This is my planned list for June! It'll probably fluctuate a bit, especially because War Storm is so long, but I'm excited to get to all of these books!
This is absolutely my favorite book by David Arnold to date. It's strange, quirky, and filled with friendship, future, and mystery. Definitely a recommendation!
Tahereh Mafi creates new intrigue in this extension of the #ShatterMe series. We get more from characters we love, and though Juliette gets a bit annoying at times, Warner's chapters and the extra world building is worth it.

"Maybe conversations are more about the silence between words too."
Lyrical and powerful, this is a book that everyone should read.

The follow up to Shatter Me, and Tahereh Mafi still doesn't disappoint. She complicates the idea of a "bad guy" in this one and I love how our perception of certain characters slowly changes through the book.
Tahereh Mafi skillfully pulls you into Juliette's world, supplemented by a forbidden romance that makes you empathize with Juliette. When your touch kills, how can you ever be in a relationship?
A great introduction to a new dystopian world.

I absolutely loved the graphic novel adaptation of Speak; the images complimented the text so beautifully. Read more of my thoughts at:

This book follows the story of Dara, a recent high school graduate who finds out her mother is transgender. There were moments of this book that made me cringe--but I think that was the point. You can tell that Verdi did her research, and her overall portrayal of Dara's Mom feels authentic.

Have you read the Divergent trilogy? What did you think? It's not my favorite series, but the first book was promising. Veronica Roth also has a new book that came out yesterday that I'm kinda intrigued about. Definitely adding to my TBR!
Evan Panos doesn't fit in. His mom thinks he's a disappointment. His dad avoids conflict. And after his summer with Gaige, Evan can't stop thinking about his best friend Henry.
There were parts of this book that were hard to read--specifically the scenes with Evan and his mother. But the story itself is important and infused with deep, raw emotion that will make you root for Evan. An important read about finding family and identity.
I'm actually officially halfway through this audiobook! 16 hours and counting. Maybe I can finish it by the end of April?

My current read! And my weakness, ice coffee. So far, I'm enjoying this book; there are a lot of strong emotions portrayed, as well as a sense of anxiety underlying the text.

"And all the books you've read have been read by other people. And all the songs you've loved have been heard by other people. And that girl that's pretty to you is pretty to other people. and that if you looked at these facts when you were happy, you would feel great because you are describing 'unity."

Wow. What a dark children's book. Smy does a fantastic job curating a tense, creepy atmosphere in both the text and the images. The two stories are closely woven together, and they feed into each other really well.

Here's my April #tbr! These are all books I picked up at the library last week, and they're all #youngadult books. I've been trying to read outside of my comfort zone this year, but this month I want to get to some YA I've been missing out on. These promise to be some fantastic reads!

What's your favorite book you read this month?
While aspects of this felt a bit predictable, overall I liked that Day and June's story wasn't completely resolved. There was room at the end for you to imagine what happens, which is one of my favorite kinds of endings for a series. The series overall definitely didn't disappoint.

I'm about halfway through this book, and I'm dying to know how it ends. Hopefully I can finish it today!
1. In my journal, on my blog, and on Goodreads!
2. 1st person, I think. But this is a difficult question.
3. I think I have to work, but also read.
4. I don't know many people on here yet, but @GarthRanzz made this, so that works!

Been listening to this on my runs, and I'm finally almost halfway through! Roy Dotrice is a fantastic narrator, making the book easier to digest in my opinion! Even though it is still over 30 hours long. 😂

Not only is this book fast-paced, its characters are also well-developed and contribute a lot to the world-building. June is someone who's been groomed by the Republic, so we're able to see a lot of their beliefs and values in her, especially in the beginning. We're able to also see the negative side of the Republic though Day, who has only been hurt by the government who is supposed to be protecting their people. 4.5/5 stars
